Bolivian president-elect starts global tour in Cuba
The president-elect of Bolivia, Evo Morales, has arrived in the Cuban capital Havana, the first stop of a global tour. He is scheduled to meet with President Fidel Castro.

The Cuban parliament passed a resolution calling for solidarity with Mr Morales in the face of alleged threats from the United States.

President-elect Morales aims to tackle poverty in Bolivia, and wants to legalize the coca crop for use by the indigenous population. Cocaine, which is made from coca, would remain illegal.

2. will he be allowed to visit the us. after he is seemingly sligting the
bush-cheney-rice-rumsfeld cabal? or, is it just that the bush boy is too busy clearing brush (like picking cotton?) that he cannot be bothered with diplomacy these days, or is it just simply that the bush boy is on vacaciones and also can't be bothered?

3. Hee, I'd love to see that
Just going by the spin that CNN alone made of the guy's election (the article I read on his election referred to him as "America's nightmare" and didn't even give his actual name!), I imagine Bush's head would explode if the guy set foot on US soil.

Oh, such a delightful mental image...

".. so much for condoleeeeeeeezaah lice and shrub's "shpreading of democracy in latin america".."

Creating "enemies" is the goal of this cabal. With the right media spin (done quite willingly with the current MSM) Mr Morales, like Chavez, seems to fit the bill. Chavez threatens US oiligarchy and Morales threatens US dope/coke-igarchy (the fake war on cocaine production for militarization purposes). Now BushCrimeInc can furiously spin the need to protect 'Murican interests from the spreading infection of socialism that threaten US "interests".. new wars or military builups will be needed to keep us all safe from that evildoer instigator - Castro's - buddies.

Mission accomplished.

To help BushCrimeInc out, always keep in the forefront of the 'Murican mind..

7. Castro welcomes Bolivia's new socialist leader
Cuban President Fidel Castro welcomed on Friday Latin America's latest leftist leader, Bolivian President-elect Evo Morales, to discuss political, economic and social co-operation.

A beaming Castro greeted Morales at the Havana airport with a warm embrace. The two men have known each other for years. "It appears the map is changing, but one has to be reflective," Castro told reporters before the two men were whisked away in a black limousine. "This is a gesture of friendship with the Cuban people," Morales said.

CASTRO LESS ISOLATED

Much to the chagrin of the United States, a still feisty Castro at 79 is less and less isolated in Latin America and the Caribbean as left and centre-left parties come to power and strengthen their political and economic ties with Cuba.

Uruguay, Brazil and Argentina are all governed by progressive-minded independents, Venezuela's Chavez has become Castro's main ally and all Caribbean governments have restored diplomatic and economic ties with Havana.
