Americans oppose port deal

WASHINGTON — Americans overwhelmingly oppose the proposed sale of cargo operations at six major U.S. seaports to a Dubai firm, calling it a threat to the nation's security, according to a USA TODAY/CNN/Gallup Poll taken Tuesday and Wednesday. Related: Ports poll results

The controversy, which has pit President Bush against Congress, also seems to have dented his approval rating over his handling of terrorism and narrowed Republicans' long-standing advantage over Democrats on the issue.

The outcry is commanding intense public interest. Three of four Americans say they are following the story closely. Overall, they oppose the deal by a nearly 4-to-1 ratio, 66%-17%. In the survey, 39% called it a "major threat" to U.S. security; 36% called it a "minor threat."

Repubs are in charge, they must stop it or pay the price. Period.

Now is the time to kick them in the nuts and beat them w/ a tire iron.

4. HE DOESN'T CARE!
It could be 99%, and it doesn't matter to him. I still don't think anybody gets that yet.

But we're still in a democracy, right? Yeah....sure....that's what it's called.

5. Don't worry folks, John Negroponte sez this is no big deal
and the risk that are involved are minimum. The Death Squad Master knows trouble when he sees it, 'eh?

And Senator Bill Frist sez it is okay cuz he studied the deal.
