Gitmo Detainee Allegedly Tortured at 15 to Face Tribunal
Mar. 13 – With the US military moving forward with the unprecedented trial of a prisoner captured at age 15, human rights lawyers are appealing to an international body for an injunction.

American University attorneys will present testimony in Washington, DC today before the Inter-American Commission on Human Rights (IACHR) in an attempt to suspend the trial before military tribunal of Omar Khadr, a Canadian-born youth held for four years at Guantánamo.

Khadr’s attorneys say the trial of their client would violate international treaties to which the US is a party. They accuse the US of denying Khadr’s rights by placing him in harsh facilities with adult detainees, denying him access to lawyers for over two years, and subjecting him to humiliation and torture.

1. I am so sickened by the continuing atrocities. I think that the reason
that any information comes out about the torture is that they are trying to get us to stop protesting the bush regime. They have a number of methods but the unspeakable Nazi horrors going on is in large part for scaring people from demanding accountablity. First they came for the Arabs....

Please get involved and google the brave people at Witness to Torture and there are many ways you can help the torture victims at http://www.CagePrisoner.com

5. It's the plural - cageprisonerS.com - your link is a bondage site
This is the third time I've told you this. Why are you giving us a link to a site selling bondage equipment so many times? Is it on purpose? Do you own the bondage site, and you're trying to get extra traffic to it?

4. Saddam Hussein on trial for similar crimes.
Execution of 148 after phony trial and tortured confessions. What's the difference?

8. yeah I forgot about that part.
Also to be fair, Saddam certainly committed more such judicial atrocities than we have so far. I think our death by torture count is currently thought to be on the order of 100 or so, and we have only executed something like a thousand people, while the Hussein regime almost certainly exceeded that by quite a lot.
