Gartman and Partner Found Guilty of Trafficking Obscenity

By: Mark Kernes

DALLAS -
It was a quick trial, lasting just five days from jury selection to the start of deliberations, but early this afternoon, Clarence Thomas Gartman and partner Brent Alan McDowell were found guilty of having shipped the video known as BVW 24, ordered from their website forbiddenvideos.com, across state lines.

Additionally, Gartman, too old to have been named after the Supreme Court justice, was convicted of one count of conspiracy to traffic in obscene material relating to BVW 24, which depicted no explicit sexual acts, although the subject of the feature was nipple piercing.

Both Gartman and McDowell were acquitted of having sold two other videos, identified as Rape Video 1 and Scat 4. Another defendant, Lou Santilena, was acquitted of all charges.

I guess there are no terrorists on the loose any more? And no arsonists, killers, armed robbers, etc?

This case was really worth the millions the government has put into it, wouldn't you say?

BTW, two others involved in this, a husband and wife who were tried earlier, are serving serious time.

2. So because it's obscene to you, they need therapy?
Will that be state mandated therapy Soviet style?

I said they need therapy (its an opinion, pal. Can we still have those?). I didn't say it should be mandated.

Hey, if you don't think videos of people raping others and shitting on each other is obscene, good for you. Watch all you want as long as its consentual for you AND the actors. I personally do think it's obscene. Therapy might be in order, not jail time.

Nipple piercing? No. I've had mine pierced. Jail time? No.

14. Your own words
"Thats obscene to me. these guys need therapy."

Sure sounds like you're advocating mandatory therapy based upon your own norms.

Maybe next time you might want to choose your words more carefully.

"if you don't think videos of people raping others and shitting on each other is obscene, good for you"

Talk about making a jump. No where did a condone their choice of viewing material.

3. The jury didn't find those to be obscene.
Just the nipple piercing video.

And do you think that they ought o go to jail for serious time for this?

7. I didn't say that. I said I think they need therapy if they are watching
people raping and crapping on each other. Just my opinion, but this behavior isn't what I consider normal, OR healthy.

8. I agree is isn't normal...
And neither of those things appeal to me at all.

I just don't think it should be criminal!

11. Exactly.
Some people think my rather tame perversions are sick, too, so I have to cut those with kinks I cannot fathom some slack as long as everybody consents.

6. I am also at work
so what is the basis for the legal verdict here? The content of the movie or distribution across state lines or both>

13. Both.
To enter the federal jurisdiction it must be sold across state lines or sent via the USPS.

And the jury had to rule the particular video obscene by community standards.

The weird thing is that the video in question had no sex in it. It was just S&M breast piercing.

12. Big government
I'm for small government, which means no laws against consenting adults doing or selling porn.

Small government.

15. Appropriately small.
Some big things are doable only by government.

But enforcing morals in victimless crimes is not appropriate for government EVER.

It's not like they have a rational criminal "justice" system.
