NBC News with Tim Russert predicts WH shakeup
Edited on Wed Mar-15-06 08:35 PM by MissWaverly
wouldn't make predictions but the rumor is that Howard Baker (Reagan Whitehouse) called
up the White House and demanded shake up. Recommended Fred Thompson (Law & Order) fame
be added to cabinet level position. (This is actually a summary of what I heard on
both NBC News with Brian Williams and CBS News with Bob Schieffer, if this is a dupe
I aopologize.

Shakeup Urged For Bush Staff
Former Senate majority leader Howard Baker phoned the White House Tuesday and sent a direct message to chief of staff Andrew Card, reports CBS News correspondent Gloria Borger.

Baker's mission: to get Card to hire former Tennessee senator Fred Thompson, now an actor who appears on the TV series "Law And Order," as a top adviser as a way to inject some "new blood" to the mix. Baker, also a former Tennessee senator, tells CBS, "I did not recommend firing anyone, just adding a new face."

Miss Waverly

Here's what I heard on the NBC Broadcast with Brian Williams & Tim Russert, please remember I am no Rodeodance

Poll: Bad news for Bush White House, reports are swriling around Washington tonight that the White House may make some staff changes after a long and tough 5 years in office. Tonight it is very clear Americans have new concerns about state of the union including the war in Iraq. Those who approve of GWB = 37%, Disapprove = 58%. Only 1 in 4 think America is on the right track, 62% wrong track. 58% think this is a long term problem with Bush leadership. Polling news may trigger White House Staff shake up. Everyone is asking what changes and when. This seems to have gotten added fuel when Norm Coleman (R-Minnesota) said that the White House was tone deaf. One GOP anonymous said that no White House staff change can change the situation on the ground in Iraq. But Russert said "But, Brian, something seems to be in the wind. We're watching and we're reporting..."

It was either Baker or Bush Sr.

And you know how much Junior hates those guys, they think they're smarter than him.

So there isn't gonna be any shakeup.

will immediately start reporting on how "Bush is turning it around." It's not his stupid staff or more silly photo-ops but his policies and his inflexible and incompetent leadership which is pushing the numbers down.

not say anything bad about Bush at all, something is in the wind.

Stay tuned.

25. Just a show they're putting on. Wouldn't doubt that Cheney does leave
and the real reason behind it is to maintain control after 08. This is much more believable than Coleman falling out of line with this administration. He is only worried about his political future nothing more.

Gonna be tough to find one with the level of disinterest of Bush. Someone who will buy anything they're selling as long as it means he doesn't have to really do anything or know anything. Dry drunk sociopaths encouraged to apply.

29. "What did the President know, and when did he know it?" Baker's
famous question during Watergate. Wasn't it Fred Thompson that gave him that question to ask? These guys learned a lot during Watergate. Maybe they think they could be of some help to W...wonder if that means they think W's gonna need their kind of expertise soon? :freak:
