Bush Approval Steady at 37%
Bush has averaged 38% over last four Gallup Polls

GALLUP NEWS SERVICE

PRINCETON, NJ -- There has been little change in George W. Bush's job approval rating in the last week. The March 13-16 Gallup Poll pegs his approval at 37%. This rating is virtually unchanged from the 36% measured over the March 10-12 weekend, and not statistically different from two February polls prior to that.

Always has been a total failure. Always will be a total failure.

Too bad so many innocent people have to suffer for his failures.

4. Have we reached the tipping point?
Maybe. Maybe that abyss Georgie was talking about the Iraqis looking into was the abyss he himself is about to take a dive in.

As much as I despise the guy, I'm more than a little worried about what happens to America (and the world for that matter) if his presidency is wrecked -- AND he stays in office. Carrying around a rotting corpse in the Oval Office for the next 33 months doesn't sound like a recipe for success on any front.

I'd much prefer a caretaker presidency by whoever avoids getting carried to the hill by the impeachment tumbrels than Schimpanski slowly putrefying in place. Even the worst of them (is it Hastert who's third in line?) would be constrained as to the mischief they could do from such a weakened position.

6. Fun with Headlines
"Bush Approval 'STEADY' at 37%"???

I've seen this headline writers work before, I think

"Titanic Officer of the Deck to Lee Helmsman: 'Steady as she goes'"

"Napoleon Suffers Minor Set-back at Waterloo"

"General Custer Confident in Troop Numbers"

"Sherman Greeted as Liberator by Georgia Residents"

"Union Reports Minor Skermish at Gettysburg"

"Mission Accomplished"

37. That's what I find amazing
There really hasn't been an outstanding screwup. Gas prices? Nope Unemployment? Nope Huge casualty figures? Nope Bush is being done in by the steady drip drip drip of day in, day out incompetence and corruption. There is no one big disaster that you can point to that he can fix and bounce back from. It's all bad, all the time.

38. Very true, it's like failing every test as opposed to failing one big test
but then again, he's done both. all sorts of little things but to me allowing 9/11 to happen, ignoring all the reports that Iraq didn't have WMD's and failing to help the Katrina victims are pretty big in my book.

bottom line, he is consistent in he stupidity and poor ability to lead.

Read my tag line. :)

every test. These people are gone for good. He is not going to win them back. The real question now is, will they transfer their disgust to the Congressional candidates in November?

40. I think we have a fantastic chance of that happening, what concerns me
is in 2008. will morons* stink be such that it carries over and gives the nomination to a democrat? I hope so...

why this worries me is, suppose the repukes realize, although to late, that moron* is well a moron* and want to go to a repuke candidate that is far removed from moron* and is actually a moderate. Unless we have a strong candidate with a powerful message and platform, we could be in for a rough go of it.

The paranoid part of me is that moron* will somehow overturn, ignore, override the 22nd amendment and become prez* for life. It's a truly scary time when even the thought of that runs through my mind as a possibility.

I still believe that they aren't finished by any stretch of the imagination and I'm not talking about bombing Iran. I believe they have more up their sleeves.

I shudder at the concept.

42. Here's a scary thought -
My dad just told me that 30% of the people in this country are right wing fundamentalists working to bring about the second coming/rapture/end of the world. He's basing that on discussions of Kevin Phillip's new book about Bush, American Theocracy. If that figure is accurate, that tracks along with Bush's approval rating. The problem is, whoever gets elected next time around is going to have to work with that 30% one way or another. In other words, any president, Democratic or Republican who trys to change things for the better is going to have to drag 30% of America along kicking and screaming.
