US senators seek to win full Turkish support against Iran

The New Anatolian / Ankara

Visiting U.S. senators told Turkish Prime Minister Recep Tayyip Erdogan that Iran's nuclear activities not only pose a threat for the U.S. but also for Turkey and the whole Middle East.

The U.S. delegation, led by John Warner, the chairman of the Senate Committee on Armed Services, also underlined the necessity to find diplomatic solutions to Tehran's nuclear program.

The delegation discussed the latest developments in the Middle East, especially Iran's nuclear program, the latest developments in Iraq and ways to curb the presence of the terrorist Kurdistan Workers' Party (PKK) during their meetings with Turkish officials in Ankara.

It looks like these Senators went to Turkey to offer them a nice stab in the Kurds' back.

2. "A civil war in Iraq is out of question at the moment,"
That has to be the most clueless thing I have read today. Next he will be ordering the wind not to blow.

3. The invasion of Iran is a guarantee
A guarantee.
There is no way bush and his bastard
crew would waste all this time and money
on a non-event.
That rape of Iran is coming.
These hilarious reports about how an
Iranian oil bourse would have no effect
on the US fucking kill me.
China and Russia and Japan and the EU cannot wait to
unload those dangerous dollars.
Chavez is looking at this with great interest
and great delight. This war is coming.

5. Nah, talk is cheap, especialiy with politicians.
I mean there is no question some of these half-wits WANT to, but ...
And FWIW, wasting money is what our government does best, why else the huge defense budget?

4. Not to worry....
the Turks have already had experience 'working' with the U.S.

In the runup to war in 2003, we had a few glitches. The Turks showed they were no pushovers. The US learned the hard way. Not even $25 billion big ones held out on a fishing pole was enough to lure them.

They have their own problems with the Kurds, to pay any attention to this.
