Iraqi Kurds accuse Turkey of shelling
Iraqi Kurds accuse Turkey of shelling

Thursday 01 June 2006, 20:18 Makka Time, 17:18 GMT

Turkey has been accused of shelling villages inside in Iraq's autonomous region of Kurdistan.

Ali Auni, an official from the ruling Kurdistan Democratic Party, said a 50-year-old shepherd was wounded in an attack in northern Iraq on Wednesday.

"Yesterday morning at 11 am Turkish forces shelled the village of Zawita and some other Kurdish villages," he told Reuters, referring to an area near the border.

Turkish officials were not immediately available for comment, but last month a Turkish government official last month dismissed a similar allegation as "total fabrication".

1. A kick for the midnite shift
Just as the Turks won't allow the Kurds to form a Kurdish state, neither will the Shias in Iraq and in Iran.

3. Terrorists? LOL!
The way the Turks treat the Kurds I wouldn't be calling Kurds the terrorists.

5. Patriots.
When you have a ethnic group that is being denied it's right to national self determination because the Turks, as usual, are being nationalisitc nuts and the Arabs want control of the oil in Iraqi Kurdistan of course they arn't going to bend over and be ass-raped.

6. Those "patriotic" kurds are on a killing spree
for the last 20 years. The "patriotic" kurds are nothing but a small minority within the kurdish popultaion and their marxist insurection is on its last throes.

8. BuddhaGirl, vast majority of the kurds are
sunnite muslims and have no problem with the turks. Only the small part who is alawite/shia are having a problem. Unlike their shia cousins in Iran the shias in turkey are anti religious. They are very marxist and have a vendetta with the sunnite population. Because of the extreme marxist radicalism of some kurds, the sunnite's (also kurds) also radicalized (hezbollah) and these two groups hate and kill each other. For years they are trying to keep these two groups apart.

9. Those Kurds are as "patriotic" as a Palestinian suicide bomber
Killing innocent civilians to settle ancient ethnic disputes is terrorism by any definition of the word.
