Last Updated: Friday, 2 June 2006, 08:22 GMT 09:22 UK
Man shot in anti-terrorism raid

A man has been shot by police during a raid carried out under the Terrorism Act, Scotland Yard has said.
He was taken to a nearby hospital after police searched a house in Forest Gate, east London. Sources say the man's injuries are not life-threatening.

A 23-year-old man has been arrested and is currently in custody at a central London police station.

The operation, early on Friday morning, was not linked to the London bombings of July 2005, police added.

The raid took place at 4am, and the officers were in full biohazard gear apparently.

2. The shot man has now been arrested, according to BBC radio.
The group was apparently planning attacks in Britain.

3. Sounds like this might be another botched British raid in the making
"Another neighbour said a family lived at the address.
"They were respectable and nice people and we do not know anything else. They have always been nice to us," she said.
"They have lived there for a long time. The kids all go to school locally."

Be interesting to see what comes out of this raid. Could be another huge blackeye for the British, though it's not like we here in America have much room to talk.

4. I noticed that after FOX pundits came out claiming that this raid proves
that we need wiretaping and spying in the US, the latest spokesman from London said they are not certain what was in the house or who these people are. They sounded like they were backing away from the claims of taking down a terrorist stronghold. We'll have to wait and see.

5. What charges? Obstructing an officer by getting in the way of a bullet?
