Web users to 'patrol' US border

A US state is to enlist web users in its fight against illegal immigration by offering live surveillance footage of the Mexican border on the internet.

The plan will allow web users worldwide to watch Texas' border with Mexico and phone the authorities if they spot any apparently illegal crossings.

Texas Governor Rick Perry said the cameras would focus on "hot-spots and common routes" used to enter the US.

1. Wait - wouldn't this info also be useful to coyotes as well?

Or as Bush says "Ki oh tays" (heard him yesterday trying to pronounce "coyote" with a Spanish accent. Funny as hell).

Live video footage of the border could also be used by coyotes to see where the border patrol is active. Am I missing something here?

Won't people just phone-in fake reports to divert border agents from where the real crossings are taking place?

Or to put them in the right spot for an ambush?

is tie this video surveilance technology to the remote controlled via video gun hunts for handicapped people that were in the news a year ago, so the minuteman can shoot themselves an illegal from the comfort of their easy chair! brilliant!

8. What they need to do is hire a bunch of undocumented workers

to monitor the live feeds from the WebCams, hire a bunch of undocumented workers to monitor the WebCams themselves to keep them from being stolen or vandalized :) (That's after they hire undocumented workers to build the 319-mile fence :)
