Bush 'troubled' by all reports of US military atrocities: WHouse
06-02-2006, 14h39
WASHINGTON (AFP)

US President George W. Bush is "troubled" by any allegations of atrocities by US-led forces in Iraq and expects soldiers there to respect the rights of civilians, the White House said.

"The president cares about making sure that military forces adhere to the rules of engagement and that they respect the human rights of civilians in Iraq," spokesman Tony Snow told reporters.

Snow confirmed that three investigations were underway into alleged wrongdoing by US-led forces in Iraq, tied to incidents in the western town of Haditha, the town of Ishaqi north of Baghdad and near Hamandiya, west of Baghdad.

"He said yesterday that he was troubled by the allegations in Haditha. I think it would be safe to say that he'd be troubled by similar allegations anywhere," said Snow.

2. Is he troubled by the reports or the atrocities?
Just kidding - the obvious answer is the reports - why can't the MSM focus on the happy news from Iraq?

37. why can't he just come out and say.........
if this happened it's flat out wrong and those involved will be punished to the full degree of the law. These statements are carefully crafted to feign real concern and yet never really condemn behavior.

11. I bet he's troubled
I bet he's troubled by the apparent coup by the Pentagon, or at least by the battlefield commanders in Iraq.

Remember that troops on the scene were ordered to photograph the evidence with their personal cameras knowing these pix would soon be public.

Out of uniform officers from Murtha to Zinni have spoken out against this administration, and thinking that those still in service support Buxh is pure fantasy.

Buxh can "clean house" at the CIA and FBI, but he doesn't have the power or means to rearrange the Pentagon during his eight years.

He has his hands full...for sure.

18. Nothing troubles this little man, especially death--he loves fantasizing
about death and loves the notion that he, being the comander in chief of the death machine, is in control over life and death, according to who he deems worthy of death and maiming and destruction of human lives.

He is NOT troubled at all--he loves it.

HE is the Commander in Chief and it is HE who instigated the "we vs the Islam crusade by refering directly to a "crusade" It is HE who instigated this barbarism by arrogantly invading a country that was defenseless on lies, and sent troops there on lies--which they most likely believed--ie that saddam has WMD. NO ONE has called him on those lies. Is that hard to believe? NO ONE of any import in any MSM has called him on those LIES. and now we have troops spurred on by his macho *(refused to go to war and went AWOL besides from his duty in the 'ANG) "Bring em on"---kill children, kill women in labor, kill anyone you feel like, because they happened to be born in a place that we the United States of American invaded on LIES of an evil little prick coward--defenseless other than to after we invaded, drummed up a resistance, much like the French during WWII. They are the resistance--and we kill them--we shoot six month old babies in the head--and then try to cover it up.

I'm sure he'll be so troubled, he'll have difficulty sleeping because of guilt that you shot an innocent person because you saw a friend killed before you...or be haunted by nightmares of family members getting shot by an invading foreign army...

It's better he just says nothing...He's a fuckin sociopath and most of the world knows it. He's troubled by "reports" of it...what happened is really not relevant to his messiahnic world view. Who cares what history thinks? We'll all be dead anyways!

Between bombing a huge and elaborate guess-list of urban targets in the dead of the night from the edge of outer space, and shooting at somebody hiding under a bed?

He trouble is our lying, irresponsible, arrogant, and corrupt "Great Decider" not the actions of the helpless troops acting under his control and responsibility.

From a guy who doesn't consider Geneva Convention "torture" violations a matter of concern, sadly Haditha would not even 'cross his radar'...if it weren't for MSM negative attention of the matter.
