The tough-talking spokesman for Governor Fletcher, Brett Hall resigned Saturday. The move comes a day after he criticized a high-ranking state Republican Party official.

The three-sentence statement announcing Hall's resignation did not give a reason for his departure.

In an interview on June 2, Hall criticized state Republican Party Chairman Darrell Brock. That criticism came a day after he publicly used a profanity in answering a reporter's question.

Hall apologizes for use of profanity

FRANKFORT - Gov. Ernie Fletcher's director of communications, Brett Hall, said he misspoke yesterday when he used a profanity while answering reporters' questions about Fletcher's desire that Lt. Gov. Steve Pence resign.

When asked if Fletcher planned to resign, Hall said, "F--- no, he's not going to resign."

In February, Hall took heat for using profanity in an interview with Herald-Leader religion reporter Frank Lockwood, who was working on a follow-up story about the governor's prayer breakfast.

After Lockwood wrote in a column about Hall's language, the governor's chief of staff Stan Cave said he spoke with Hall "and have been assured that this won't happen again."

Last night, Cave said, "I have advised Brett that he faces possible termination if this happens again."

9. Bush HAS been heard saying the F word but it STILL didn't tarnish...
his bullshit born-again facade. Bush has said any number of hateful "curse words." But it somehow doesn't seem to keep people from questioning his veneer.
