NYT/AP: House Panel to Probe Oklahoma City Bombing
House Panel to Probe Oklahoma City Bombing
By THE ASSOCIATED PRESS
Published: June 8, 2006

OKLAHOMA CITY (AP) -- A California congressman said Thursday a House subcommittee he chairs would investigate whether there was a foreign connection to the 1995 bombing of the Oklahoma City federal building.

''We need to answer some very serious questions in order to have confidence that the truth of this monstrous crime is fully known,'' Republican Rep. Dana Rohrabacher said in a statement.

Rohrabacher, who has conducted an extensive personal inquiry into the bombing, chairs the Oversight and Investigations Subcommittee of the International Relations Committee.

Timothy McVeigh was put to death in 2001 for the April 19, 1995, bombing that killed 168 people and injured more than 800 others. His co-defendant, Terry Nichols, is serving state and federal life prison sentences.

Theories have persisted that other suspects not officially identified may have played a role....

19. Of course
Has anyone read the book about Robert Kennedy's assassination and post hypnotic suggestion, i know that's not the correct term but i can't recall it. Buglioso firmly beleived that was what happened re Sirhan and many years ago there were accounts of experiments in the Army re GI's

12. Nichols in Indonesia
Terry Nichols was in Indonesia around the time of the big al Qaeda meeting that plotted Bojinka. And, of course, there is always John Doe #2 to figure out.

Too bad their primary witness is DEAD because we executed him. What happens if they prove McVeigh didn't do it? Ha!

14. Indonesia?
Nichols went to the Phillipines a lot. That's where wife Marife Torres was born and had gone to school. If you have more than hearsay evidence about an Indonesia visit, I'd like to see it.

McVeigh didn't do it? Aw, c'mon.... he was PROUD of it!

15. I recall what a hurry Ashcroft was in to get McVeigh executed
as soon as he got into office, before anybody started asking inconvenient questions about what really happened.

20. Well, as the 20th anniversary of Iran-Contra approaches, perhaps ..
.. this will provide a good excuse to remind people of how the rightwingers do business ...

21. That was my first thought too
They will try their best to use this to whip up war fever. The truth doesn't have any bearing on the situation.

3. This is how they want to distract the base - and they'll make sure it
gets blamed on Clinton - that's how Rohrabacher and Norquist work.

4. What a surprise.
Because we Americans are all sooooo happy and soooo in love with our land of boundless opportunity of freedom, governed as it is by the wise and the just, it couldn't have been one of us who masterminded the dasterdly deed. No siree! Some evil foreigner had to corrupt nice Tim McVeigh and turn him into an evil mad bomber. It's always foreigners who are at the root of America's problems. We'd all be perfect if there were just no foreigners.

11. Yeppers, things are so peachy in the laaaand of the fuh-reeeee and the
home of the brave that no Murkan would ever dream of doing such a thing unless corrupted by an evil foreigner. You nailed it, Kutjara.

9. "Timothy McVeigh was put to death in 2001"
I guess that closes that avenue of inquiry permanently, doesn't it?

10. Not if you want to make up a bunch of stuff...
...without having to worry about it being refuted by a live perp. A dead McVeigh can become the 'Lee Harvey Oswald' of any multinational conspiracy you like. A living McVeigh can simply say, 'what the hell are you talking about?'

16. I'd like for them to probe the connection between McVeigh and Limbaugh
Didn't ole' Timmy have a dog eared copy of Rush' tome, "the Way it Ought to Be"?

You know McVeigh was a Freeper Dildo-head. Who says hate radio never hurt anyone? Ask the 250+ that were killed that day.

Rush didn't drive the U-Haul, but he sure as hell lit the fuse.

22. Could OKC have been LIHOP?
Strikes me as a real possibility that McVeigh's group was infiltrated and foreknowledge about his plans obtained.

look at our rightwing domestic terrorists.
