US right looks to Bush the younger (Jeb)

US right looks to Bush the younger

WITH an approval rating of 63%, one Bush is riding high in the polls. But his first name is Jeb and he will be out of office by January. Republicans who think he is too good a politician to waste are hoping to persuade the governor of Florida to become Senator John McCain’s running mate in the 2008 presidential election.

President George W Bush’s younger brother is keeping busy during his final months in power after running one of America’s most critical swing states for nearly eight years. Next month he is travelling to Britain and Ireland for nine days on behalf of “Team Florida”, visiting Farnborough air show and promoting local business links.

British officials believe it is an unusually long stay for an outgoing governor, which suggests he has a wider agenda. In April he visited Afghanistan and Iraq, an essential trip for presidential hopefuls.

“If only his last name was Smith,” sighed Fred Barnes in The Weekly Standard, the right-wing political magazine. “He’d be the prohibitive frontrunner for the Republican presidential nomination in 2008.”

32. Seared On My Consciousness
I've been predicting a McCain/Bush ticket for over a year now. I'm not fishing for credit but we need to be prepared. Such a ticket could win but I am here to tell everyone reading that a Kerry/Clinton ticket for our side would win. I know that many Dems aren't too crazy about the former First Lady but with the extensive experience Kerry gained campaigning against a Rove-led opponent in combination with President Clinton campaigning for the misses would be a sure winner. It's just that simple.

5. GW Bush became president because his name was Bush.
I think that Jeb will certainly run again. That does not mean that he will be any more successful than his older brother. I worked in the aircraft industry with a guy named Messerschmidt. I do not think that it helped him too much.

Fred thinks that by endlessly fellating Jeb eventually Jeb's dick will just give out. Jeb thinks that by allowing Fred to endlessly fellate him Fred's mouth will become so chapped that he will have no choice but to surrender.

There is no end to this war in sight

10. Wait until the housing market declines further
Jebbie's name will be mud. That is main thing that is driving Florida's economy. Jebbie gutted environmental and zoning regs then passed a bunch of tax cuts for the wealthy. The result is FL is turning into one large strip mall bordered by condos. However, when the market comes down, this will hurt FL worse than other states. The increases in gas prices will also hurt the tourism in FL. The only reason people have approved of him is because of the current economy and booming housing market in FL. The majority disaporve of his education policies and other ideas. They just defeated him in his attempt to destroy the class size amendment.

15. "He'd be the prohibitive frontrunner"
Definition of "prohibitive" from The American Heritage® Dictionary of the English Language, Fourth Edition:

1. Prohibiting; forbidding: took prohibitive measures.
2. So high or burdensome as to discourage purchase or use: prohibitive prices.
3. So likely to win as to discourage competition: the prohibitive favorite to win the nomination.

I guess he meant #3. I think that #1 & #2 are more accurate.
