AP: Schwarzenegger calls on Western governors to fight global warming
Schwarzenegger calls on Western governors to fight global warming
Associated Press

SEDONA, Ariz. - Western states must work together to reduce greenhouse gasses in the fight against global warming, Gov. Arnold Schwarzenegger said on Sunday at the annual meeting of the Western Governors' Association.

"We are long past the time when we can just talk about this problem," said the Republican, who is running for re-election. "We must take action."

Schwarzenegger pointed to California's work to try to reduce emissions by 33 percent by 2020.

"In California, we now have a booming economy and are taking care of the environment, so it can be done," Schwarzenegger told the governors at the three-day conference.

Schwarzenegger applauded the work of the Clean and Diversified Energy Advisory Committee, a 250-member group that has spent the past two years studying energy issues in the West....

1. Oh, sure, Ahnold is sooooo concerned...
...about the environment. His concern will grow and grow and grow. Until November. Then he'll forget all about it.

2. What a laugh!
The governor of Calfornia better start re-evaluating the party
he belongs to if he really cares about global warming.

10. Getting rid of his Hummer would help too
And I'm not talking about what he gets when he denigrates the nursing and teacher unions.

6. Ahhnold cares about the environment?
Sure, he wants those to forget his meetings with Ken Lay before his election. Ahnolld and his wife should be tossed out in the trash.

14. Explain to me how California's voters
elected the guy who was complicit in extorting cash for energy through Enron? Arnie was called into the Enron offices early on -- before the brownouts and blackouts which devastated California's coffers, and personal bank accounts. He was the hand-picked guy to swing California over to Bush. (didn't work, but that was the plan.)
Arnie is a puppet for the Bushies.
And now he's concerned about global warming?
He's not a good enough actor to pull off this charade.

17. Just keep hammering him about Enron and the $6 billion he cost CA
If not for his torpedoing the settlement, Calfornia would have surplus!

9. It's a joke to us but this kind of noise will get him reelected
It's not the first good PR he's gotten lately as he dives for the middle. If facts, or recent history, had anything to do with it, he wouldn't be in office now.

The cables still love him. One of the heads recently marveled, "he's much more comfortable in front of the camera lately". He's. a. movie. star! Given a couple of years, even a stupid movie star can learn the script.

18. He supported Enron's price gouging and market manipulation
Purely for the sake of the environment. Super high prices meant people used less energy. See how that works?
