http://phoenix.bizjournals.com/phoenix/stories/2006/06/12/story2.html?i=47182

Executives from Scottsdale oil company Giant Industries Inc. received some giant bonuses, mirroring their brethren in the energy sector.

Top brass at Giant -- which operates gasoline stations, fuel depots and refineries -- received more than $3.9 million in bonuses and another $697,000 in stock awards at the end of 2005, according to company financial disclosures.

That's compared with $1.9 million in bonuses and no stock options they took home in 2004, according to filings with the U.S. Securities & Exchange Commission.

Giant Chairman and Chief Executive Fred Holliger received a $1.65 million bonus for 2005 versus an $825,000 bonus in 2004 and a $295,000 bonus in 2003. Holliger earned $581,000 in salary last year.

Company President Morgan Gust got a $1 million bonus, Chief Financial Officer Mark Cox received a $440,000 bonus and Executive Vice President Leroy Crow garnered a $440,000 bonus, for 2005, according to the SEC filings.

5. I'm really not apathetic, (I hope), but I don't really care.
You know why? People like this are sick, IMO. They are dark and they lack soul. They may even think they are happy, but it's not based on the real things in life that make people TRULY happy. It's all so disturbing. I do care for the people they are "stealing" from, which is everyone else and their neighbor too, but I don't think they are getting away "scott free". I think they are paying a price that has no "price-tag" so to speak.

Like I said, it's all so disturbing and very sick.

6. C'mon guys
It takes a lot of work, you know, putting all those pails under the oil geysers, and going back and forth, back and forth. They might just be making barely over minimum wage!

7. We live in bizarro land...
gas goes up, the price of oil goes up, these execs get major ass bonus's and retirement packages, yet they say there is plenty of oil and plenty of gas....sooooooo, why doesn't the price at the pump go down????

Hmmm, that's a head scratcher, whether it's peak oil or price gouging, someone is getting screwed and guess what?
