Bush to Accompany Elvis-Fan Koizumi to Graceland After Talks

June 13 (Bloomberg) -- President George W. Bush and Japan's Prime Minister Junichiro Koizumi are going to Graceland.

The late singer Elvis Presley's estate in Memphis, Tennessee, was officially put on the itinerary for Koizumi's trip to the U.S. and Canada at the end of the month, the Bush administration announced today.

Bush and his wife, Laura, will accompany the Japanese prime minister to Graceland the day after Koizumi arrives June 29 in Washington for talks.

The administration's press office announced the Graceland trip from Baghdad today, during Bush's surprise visit to meet with Iraqi Prime Minister Nuri al-Maliki and his cabinet.

5. A Canadian Political Writer
Once said that political satire died in this country when Pierre Trudeau took a walk in a snowstorm and decided to quit. I think I should look him up and ask him what he feels about the politics both north and south of the border now.......and the possiblity of political satire.

grown ups? Maybe Blair will fly over for a pit stop. Who knows all three might enjoy going into Elivs's private closet and trying on some of his Las Vegas outfits and enjoy a little lip syncing to "Don't be Cruel." :eyes:

Hearing that Koizumi is hot to do an Elvis pilgrimage is endearing. I am reminded of the Jim Jarmusch movie "Mystery Train."
