Iraq in Civil War for 82% of Americans

(Angus Reid Global Scan) – Many adults in the United States believe Iraq is still going through a period of enormous instability, according to a poll by CBS News. 82 per cent of respondents believe there is a civil war going on in the country among different groups.

The survey was conducted after Jun. 8, when Abu Musab al-Zarqawi—regarded as al-Qaeda’s top commander in Iraq—was killed in an air strike. In February, suspected insurgents placed two bombs inside Samarra’s Shiite Golden Mosque. The event led to weeks of sectarian violence in Iraq.

3. Only 12% said no.
That is an encouraging sign too.

Would you say there is a civil war going on in Iraq
among different groups of Iraqis right now, or not?

Yes: 82% No: 12% Don't know: 6%

The number of Americans who believe what the Bush administration tells them
is shrinking down to the reality-proof die-hards.

Yes, seemingly *all* of the USA Corporate News Media's message today is encouraging us NOT to pay attention to the killings, only that our Dear Leader may get a bounce in the polls due to his visit to his war-torn occupied land (and peoples). :puke:

5. ah, but bear in mind
that most of those respondents CAN'T find Iraq on a world map. Makes their opinions a little bit less valuable, but still might help in the dethroning of the evil empire.
