Ricketts TV ad targets Kennedy, Hillary Clinton
Ricketts TV ad targets Kennedy, Hillary Clinton
By DON WALTON / Lincoln Journal Star

Pete Ricketts launched his first post-primary TV ads Tuesday, urging Nebraska voters to focus on which party controls the Senate.

“A Democratic Senate controlled by Hillary Clinton and Ted Kennedy promises an agenda of higher taxes, more government spending and liberal judges,” Ricketts warns in the commercials.

In Nebraska, it’s not just a contest between himself and Democratic Sen. Ben Nelson, the Republican Senate nominee said in a telephone interview from Omaha.

“This is a national race that could determine who controls the U.S. Senate,” Ricketts declared.

6. I saw the ad last night, it looked so pathetic that I laughed.
Previous ads focused on a red hat.

2. Who wants to bet
that he received a playbook like the one published by the Pentagon, and passed around the congress giving all the Repubs the talking points for supporting the war, for the GOP to keep control of the House and Senate. Sounds like a Nationalistic 'Agenda'. Who wants to bet that his TV ads are bought, paid for and produced by the Repub media production machine? Sounds to me like Rove has been busy, organizing every GOP house and senate race in the country. These power mongers, if nothing else, have the rhetoric designed to push the same old tired phrases about taxes, big government, and their idea of morals and values, to put fear into constituents of having less of their take home pay, more invasive control in their lives, and lawlessness allowed by judges, who won't uphold safety and protection of our way of life. Before we bitch about it...what are our old tired and true phrases? Do Democrats have any identifiable talking points about taxes, the size of the governmental machine or the protection of our values? I can't think of any talking points, that I have heard over and over, that clearly identify a Democratic message. Well, now that I think about it, we ARE honest. If we didn't believe we could deliver, we might not go around spouting, a bunch of promises, we might not be able to deliver. 'They' on the other hand say what they think common folks want to hear. In other words they will unabashedly lie and say what ever sounds good. Thanks for the rant space.

3. You know, even if the Dem's agenda was higher taxes, more spending,
and liberal judges, it sure is a lot better than crushing deficit, more corruption, and more wars and more death. So, I'd still vote for the Democrats.

4. I thought that Repukes were always winning because
"they focus on the local, not the national" . . .

We tried it their way . . . now we have to clean up the mess . . . same as in 1930 . . .

5. This guy is such a disgusting ass. He looks like Jerry Jeff,
he tries to play himself off as the common man (his dad founded Ameritrade and he's an ex-officer of the company) and he's running on fiscal responsibility, Midwest values, and he's very 'family values'.

He's a typical republican bigot phony bastard.

7. Here's a strategy for you....
If we elect a Democratic Senate and/or House, Junior could finally dust off that Veto stamp he seems to have lost.
