(Boise Idaho) 25 Hour Peace Vigil
Boise, Idaho - A vigil commemorating the death of 2,500 soldiers in the Iraq invasion is underway on the Statehouse steps.

"We are gathered here because we must be here to witness the death and destruction of war in Iraq," said Mike Winter with the Idaho Peace Coalition.

The vigil began at 5 p.m. Friday and will continue until 6 p.m. Saturday.

The Idaho Peace Coalition is reading the names, ages and hometowns of all of the soldiers who have been killed in the war.

"Since we've reached this sad milestone, we think it's important to stop and contemplate the price of this war, and the sacrifice and weigh it against the benefits," said Winter.

The public is encouraged to show up at anytime during the vigil, to show their support.

"You can also take turns reading some of the names."

2. "...the American people will certainly bring an end to this war."
"The President will not bring an end to this war. This Congress will not bring an end to this war, absent the Murtha Resolution. But the American people will certainly bring an end to this war. They will do it in the streets. And they will do it at the ballot box. The American people will become the Out of Iraq Caucus."

--Dennis Kucinich 6/16/06

We had a protest/vigil today in front of Norm Coleman's office in St. Paul.

About 75 people showed up. Ten were members of Military Families Speak Out.

Sad day.

We need many more.
