West Hollywood leaders vote to 'leave the pot smokers alone'
<WEST HOLLYWOOD, California -- City leaders adopted a resolution calling on sheriff's deputies not to target certain adult marijuana users.

The City Council backed the resolution 4-0 on Monday, said city spokeswoman Tamara White.

The resolution directs the Sheriff's Department, which contracts with this left-leaning city, not to "target adult marijuana users who consume this drug in private and pose no danger to the community."

Minors and drug dealers would still be subject to arrest, and smoking in public would still be prohibited, the resolution says.

The resolution is not legally enforceable, but sends a message that law enforcement officers should "leave the pot smokers alone" and go after more serious crimes, said Councilman John Duran, the resolution's sponsor.>

7. I thought that might be the case-- we have prop 215 cards here...
...but since there isn't a statewide program yet (that I know of) it's still a county-by-county thing if I recall correctly, so I wasn't sure about Riverside.

8. Good. Marijuana is beneficial, not harmful, to its consumers.
Not to mention those consumers interact with.

10. wonderful
I used to smoke in my apartment with towels blocking every single crevice "just in case" because the fear of getting a knock on my door. Now I have a Volcano vaporizer (best thing EVER, by the way) and am gratedul I live in L.A. because I think the cops here have more important things to do. Fortunately for me, they seem to agree.

Question about the prescriptions- I considered going to get one because I probably could due to arthritis from surgery following a severe car accident, but frankly I'm scared of getting on any kind of lists when the feds come knocking. Is that a valid fear?
