US military bases welcome in Australia: Howard

SYDNEY (AFP) - Prime Minister John Howard said Monday the United States was welcome to establish military bases in Australia. He was commenting on a report that two joint military training and "forward expeditionary bases" would be built in the north of the country.
"The notion of bases or operational facilities or training facilities by Americans is something I would warmly welcome," Howard told reporters, without specifically confirming the report in the Australian Financial Review.

"We made an announcement some time ago to the effect that we were going to expand the capacity for training and operations exercises in northern Australia for Americans," he said. "Whether you describe that as bases or not, I don't know."

Howard is a close ally of US President George W. Bush and has deployed troops with US led coalition forces in both Afghanistan and Iraq.

2. Is Johnny in a coma, or does he really think everyone is THAT stupid?
"The notion of bases or operational facilities or training facilities by Americans is something I would warmly welcome" ...

For fuck's sake, does he honestly think no one KNOWS how long Oz has has U.S. bases / "operational facilities" / etc. -- in NT and every-bloody-where else?!

Ask my other half for info on the many, many ways we've not only installed ourselves throughout Oz as if it were freaking post-war Japan, but have strongarmed Aussie domestic politics for the past four (five?) decades!

Oh, not yelling at you, Judi Lynn, I promise -- just YELLING!

Little Johnny thinks his own people are absolutely STUPID!

4. Sounds as if he shares that "misunderestimation" with Bush.
In the meantime, they're more than compelled to throw our tax dollars around like drunken sailors on shore leave, while conducting OUR business behind our backs, and choking our own press to the point no one dares print a story informing anyone of anything serious, or truthful.

It would be worth a king's ransom to see a bunch of these half-wits led onto a faulty roller-coaster at Six Flags Over Texas, I'm not kidding.

How long do you think the butthead stood
like this with his "impromptu" impish grin before
someone noticed and took his goddamned photo?
