N. Korea says not bound by missile test treaty
SEOUL, South Korea - North Korea declared Tuesday that it is not bound by a 2002 missile test moratorium, Japan's Kyodo news agency reported.

"Our actions are not bound by the Pyongyang Declaration or any other statements," Kyodo quoted an unidentified official of Pyongyang's foreign ministry as telling Japanese reporters in North Korea.

As tensions grew, meanwhile, the U.S. staged war games in the western Pacific on Tuesday with 22,000 troops, 280 aircraft and three aircraft carriers.

1. Isn't it just lovely
scrub set the tone by ignoring every treaty we signed over the past thirty+ years and then expects the rest of the world to honor treaties that they signed.

If it weren't real, I'd swear it was a Monty Python skit

2. "Hey world, do as I say and not as I do"
I hope we all bear in mind that NK is NOT setting a precedent with this...

http://archives.cnn.com/2001/ALLPOLITICS/12/13/rec.bush.abm/

In 2002, Bush said that the U.S would withdraw from the 1972 ABM Treaty...

"Today I am giving formal notice to Russia that the United States of America is withdrawing from this almost 30-year-old treaty," Bush said.

Or, in other words, "Hey world, do as I say and not as I do!"

3. "We never imagined that anyone would disregard the treaty"
Just wait for the mock indignation and outrage.

4. Geez, I thought that was a Bush quote...
Funny how things like this seem to come back to haunt the Bushies. Nice going, NeoCons!
