Iraq chemical weapons 'too old to use'

THE chemical weapons that have been recovered by US forces in Iraq were all made before the 1991 Gulf War and were too degraded for their intended use, US intelligence officials said today.

...

But the intelligence officials, who briefed reporters on condition of anonymity, said the weapons were too degraded to have posed a threat to US forces in March 2003.

...

"Generally they are in poor condition," one official said.

"We assess that they are not in condition to be used as designed. And detailed analysis of the toxic agents shows they are degraded and represent a much lower hazzard," he said.

...

The weapons were found "in small numbers over time" since 2003, an official said.

They were recovered in one, two or three at a time - not in large caches, the officials said.

1. Well, we all knew that
I am a bit surprised that the truth is being admitted so early, though.

3. "They were recovered in one, two or three at a time - not in large caches"
"...the officials said."

So basically, they found a number of garbage dumps, some of which had not-entirely-destroyed chemical shells in them from over a decade earlier.

And just a couple of weeks ago, they found an old UXB from WWII buried at London City Airport, ...

5. This may be, but what about all the dihydrogen monoxide they had? . . .

And still have! Even though our presence has degraded its overall quality considerably, it still poses a deadly danger to anyone who comes in contact with it.

Here's a website that details this deadly compound: http://www.dhmo.org/

And that bastard Saddam had millions of gallons of it, just lying around the country! And until we came, he was pumping it directly into their homes.

(Edited to reinforce how nefarious Saddam was in his free distribution of this deadly compound!)

6. FoxNews website has headline "WMD found"
Its working for the 30%. Limbaugh was saying the report still has classified sections so we won't know the whole truth about the WMD's. Its just murky enough for them to clutch to this like drowning rats. The 30% also believes the "Liberal Press" will never report the truth. They are treating this like breaking news. They think because the other news agencies aren't reporting on this it is some "drive-by-media" conspiracy.

Did it occur to them the classified section identifies the chemicals came from us?
