SAN DIEGO – Two local congressmen have authored a bill that would allow the city of San Diego to sell the Mount Soledad cross to the federal government, a step they hope will preserve the La Jolla landmark.
Reps. Duncan Hunter, R-Alpine, and Brian Bilbray, R-San Diego, introduced the bill late Monday, according to Hunter's office.
The city is under court order to remove the 29-foot cross from city property by Aug. 1, or it will face a fine of $5,000 a day. A judge has ruled it is an unconstitutional preference of religion for the cross to be displayed on public property.
The legislation calls for the federal government to purchase a small area of the city-owned property, specifically the area bounded by an existing sidewalk on top of Mount Soledad, on which the cross and a veterans memorial sit.Clearly these two care more about DEAD veterans than than they do live ones, and Diebold is the only reason that Bilbray (R-Lobbyist) is back in Congress. Meanwhile Cher collects charity money to buy our troops in the field the helmet liners they need.
Hey Bilbray, Hunter!!! Not all veterans are Christians you fucking puke assholes!! And not everybody in San Diego thinks handing prime real estate over the the federal government is good idea!!:mad::mad::mad:
