Nine U.S. troops killed in Iraq
POSTED: 8:55 p.m. EST, December 3, 2006

BAGHDAD, Iraq (CNN) -- Nine U.S. troops died in Iraq during the weekend, including five killed by roadside bombs, the U.S. military reported Sunday.

Two soldiers were killed and two wounded Sunday when a roadside bomb exploded near their vehicle in northern Iraq, U.S. commanders in the northern city of Tikrit announced. The soldiers were assigned to the Army's 3rd Brigade, 1st Cavalry Division.

Two U.S. soldiers and a Marine died from unspecified "enemy action" in western Iraq's Anbar province Saturday, the American command in Baghdad reported, while two U.S. soldiers were killed by a roadside bomb.

Anbar, including the provincial capital Ramadi, has been a hotbed of the mostly Sunni Arab insurgency against U.S. troops that emerged after the 2003 invasion of Iraq.

And two American soldiers were reported killed in Baghdad -- one slain by a roadside bomb Saturday, another killed in fighting Sunday.........

4. I am starting to believe that "delusions of grandeur" guy in the WH is NOT being controlled by
anyone.

He's directed to the plane, room, table that dimplomatic(read: cheerleading) protocol demands.

Otherwise, he's on his own. No one wants to deal with him, anymore.

He's the perpetual adolescent, and he's f***ing rebelling against whatever he perceives as authority.

Its too damn bad that so many influential people in politics, the media and the corporations desperately need him to have "leadership" credibility, even though it's of the manufactured kind.

I can only hope there are a few sane folks left in his "circle of trust".

3. All of these deaths are heartbreaking
Nine...nine more, due to Bush. How many Iraqis died during the same period? They might be called terrorists, or insurgents, by the news, but many are women and children, and very old men who are not involved in fighting. Bush has done so much damage to the world during the past six years, it's as though he were being paid a bounty for how much misery he is able to inflict. I dread the thought of how much more damage he will be able to cause in his remaining two years in office.

5. Every death in Iraq has been an obscenity, now even more so.
Just about every single citizen of this country wants us out of this nasty, miserable mess. Oh yeah, the country we occupy and the rest of the world want us out, too.

The whole world screaming for the pain to stop and he doesn't hear. Or care.

6. Yup, sounds just about right
For every face-saving day BushCo keeps us there, about three American soldiers must be slaughtered and about 48 must be wounded. On average, of course. And it's December 3rd, so we're right in the groove!

At least one BushCo calculation is going to plan. Regular as clockwork. Every eight hours. Every time I wake up, the counter goes up by one. Every time I go to work, the counter goes up. Every time I go to sleep, the counter goes up one.

Rest in peace, soldiers and Marines. Your job on this short earthly plane is done. Rest in peace.

lyrics by unknown

Fading light, dims the sight;
And a star, gems the sky, gleaming bright;
From afar, drawing nigh;
Falls the night...

Day is done, gone the sun;
From the lake, from the hills, from the sky;
All is well, safely rest;
God is nigh...

Then goodnight, peaceful night;
Till the light, of the dawn, shineth bright;
God is near, do not fear;
Friend, goodnight...

7. Bush says: "Record oil profits this year, who cares?"
If Bush gave a damn about soldiers he would not have started a war solely for corporate profits.

12. But the DOW is still over 12K! War profits have skyrocketed!
What are a few thousand dead peasant soldiers and heartbroken American families compared to the enormous war profits that Bu*h's friends and family are raking in?

13. And with todays 4 we have 13 deaths in dec, and it's only the 4th.
Edited on Mon Dec-04-06 01:21 PM by superconnected
This makes 30 familys since Thanksgiving, to have gotten the news.

With the 4 additional deaths from the helicoptor crash today it brings the toll to
2904 US military deaths.

Will the news stations cause a sensation when we hit 3000? We should hit the number by mid January if not sooner.

15. Stack 'em high in the name of George W. (Asshole) Bush

Grass Bush

Pile the bodies high in Austerlitz and Waterloo Iraq
Shovel them under and let me work--
I am the grass; bush; I cover all.

And pile them high in Gettyburg Baghdad
And pile them high in Ypres and Vedum Mossoul and Al Fallaujah

Two years, ten years, and passengers ask the conductor:
What place is this?

I am the grass bush.
Let me work.

17. a sad K&R from a "Nam vet... when will it end? when will they get to come home?...
There is no winning; no way to salvage any respect from peaceful nations in the world and no way to repair the damage our government is doing to future generations. When will it all end?
