Bush Says Rarely Talks Policy With Dad
Reuters 12/04/06

WASHINGTON - President George W. Bush, facing growing public discontent
over the Iraq war, admitted on Monday his parents are worried about him
but insisted he rarely talks policy with his father.

Bush acknowledged, however, he did consult with the 41st president before
nominating Robert Gates, CIA director under his father, to replace Donald
Rumsfeld as defense secretary. But he said the elder Bush has no advance
knowledge of the appointment.

In a rare glimpse of his relationship with the former president after recent
signs of possible strains between the two men, Bush said he calls his parents
every two weeks.

"I love to talk to my dad about things between a father and a son, not policy,"
he said.

"Washington can be a tough town at times and there is nothing better than
hearing a loving voice on the end of the phone call occasionally and so I
check in with mother and dad," Bush said.

So let's get this straight. Things are rough in Washington, and sometimes
it makes Georgie blue. And that is when he picks up the phone to talk with
mom and dad. But they never talk shop.

So, um, what do they talk about? Rosebud?

6. Bastard
You beat me to it; I was going to say "or anyone else, for that matter".

You are so correct.

For someone who knows essentially nothing about the intricacies of ethnic interaction around the globe, he's incredibly cocksure with is actions (Iraq) or inactions (Israel/Palestine).

If there is a future, history will revile this nobody.

3. Bush is just a pawn. It's really quite sad.
I get the feeling that he's not even interested in politics. But he's fulfilling the plans that his parents had for him. And everybody is suffering for Barbara's dream.

14. Glad about that second sentence.
I don't think this was every GB Sr.'s dream. JUST Barbara's.

GB is well aware that Dubya is a putz and an embarrassment to the family.

Whatever memorable the father did will be erased by memories of his son.

8. --snippets---

"Washington can be a tough town at times and there is nothing better than hearing a loving voice on the end of the phone call occasionally and so I check in with Mother and Dad," Bush said.

"Of course, they're worried about their son ... they're paying too much attention to the newspapers, I guess."

......unlike their son who doesn't pay attention to much of anything...

----

....and thrusting out his codpiece...:

Asked to comment on widespread view that his father's influence was coming to bear on his administration, Bush insisted: "I am the commander-in-chief."

11. these bushes are so sorrily undifferentiated from one another that they have to pretend that they
do not consult each other -- what a bunch of crack. one eats, the other digests the food, and the other one farts! that is how melded together they are. if they really were able to eat, digest and fart independently of each other, they may not find it a problem or demeaning to say, yeah, we talk things over, it helps me to think better and i get to choose what part of my own thoughts i want to go with. that is what differentiation and being grown up is all about.

12. It's always about them, never about the rest of the world
Poppy gets this unpleasant whine in his voice when Little Boots is criticized in front of him. How dare anyone disrespect a Bush?

Back when Bush the Lesser was running for prez he was asked what he talked about with Bush the Elder. His adolescent reply: "Pussy."

That whole family turns my stomach.

13. From a 1999 Salon article, here's what Poppy and Monkey talk about
http://www.salon.com/news/feature/1999/04/09/bush/index1.html

"...Ten years ago, at the 1988 Republican Convention, Hartford Courant associate editor David Fink struck up a conversation with George W. 'When you're not talking politics,' Fink asked the vice president's son, 'what do you and (your father) talk about?'

'Pussy,' George W. replied..."
