KABUL, Afghanistan -- A suicide car bomber hit a NATO convoy
in the Afghan capital Thursday, killing two foreigners and
wounding three others, a police officer said.
The bomber also wounded two Afghan civilians in the attack in
eastern Kabul, said Najibullah Samsur, a local police chief.
Samsur could not say whether the foreign victims were soldiers
or contractors working for the alliance's troops.
NATO confirmed that there was an explosion near one of its
convoys, but provided no details on any casualties.

-snip-KABUL, June 28 (Reuters) - A suicide car bomber hit a vehicle
carrying foreign troops in the Afghan capital on Thursday and
may have killed two soldiers, police officials said.
The Taliban, who are fighting foreign troops and the Afghan
government, claimed responsibility for the attack on a road
leading east out of the city.
Two soldiers in the vehicle might have been killed in the
attack which also wounded several other soldiers and Afghan
civilians, said a police official who declined to be
identified.
The interior ministry said two people were killed and eight
wounded in the attack, but did not identify the victims.
It said a vehicle of U.S.-led coalition force was damaged.
