Bush Rips Democratic Lawmakers' Failures

WASHINGTON (AP) - President Bush accused Democratic lawmakers on Saturday of being unable to live up to their duties, citing Congress' inability to pass legislation to fund the federal government.

"Democrats are failing in their responsibility to make tough decisions and spend the people's money wisely," Bush said in his weekly radio address. "This moment is a test."

The White House has said the failure of a broad immigration overhaul was proof that Democratic-controlled Capitol Hill cannot take on major issues. "We saw this with immigration, and we're seeing it with some other issues where Congress is having an inability to take on major challenges," said spokesman Tony Fratto.

The main reason the immigration measure died, however, was staunch opposition from Bush's own base - conservatives. The president could not turn around members of his own party despite weeks of intense effort.

3. This is called projection.
Bush is simply unable to see his and his party's own failures,
so he projects them on the ridiculed or demonized "other," in
this case the Dems and liberals who are so vilified in the
msm, almost all Bushinc enablers.

7. Democrats are a failure for not passing Bush's agenda?
Since when is an opposition party supposed to give the president his wishes?

How old is Mr. Bush? Two years?

This sounds like a giant temper tantrum "I WANNA GET MY WAY WAA WAA"

Faux News really prepared Tony well. The McClellan and Ari Flescher always looked a little uncomfortable spouting Bush White House double speak. They were always hemming and hawing. Tony ... Tony is BEAUTIFUL, this man is an artist. THE MAN CAN LIE!!!! Tony is smart enough to know the difference so we KNOW he is doing it SO WELL. It's a performance the devil could be proud of. The guy does it with such eloquence that ya know he didn't get much when he sold his soul. He WANTED to do it!!! The man probably made Satan blush with such a low price!!!!

Threatening to veto legislation that wasn't directed to Halliburton and the rest of his crime family. They've ripped this country off for trillions and now the GOPers are going to whine about domestic spending.

Bush sharpens budget attack on Democrats
Sat Jul 7, 2007 12:09PM EDT

By Matt Spetalnick

WASHINGTON (Reuters) -
Escalating a budget battle with Democrats who control Congress, President George W. Bush accused them on Saturday of pushing tax-and-spend policies and renewed his veto threat.

Though he stopped short of branding them a do-nothing Congress as some fellow Republicans have, Bush complained that Democrats were "behind schedule passing the individual spending bills needed to keep the federal government running" beyond the end of the fiscal year on September 30.

"They are working to bring back the failed tax-and-spend policies of the past," he said in his weekly radio address. "Democrats are failing in their responsibility to make tough decisions and spend the people's money wisely."

With approval ratings driven down to lows of his presidency largely by the Iraq war, Bush is trying to turn the tables on the Democratic-led Congress. Dismal poll numbers for Congress show growing disappointment with its performance as well.

18. And you, Mr. President......
are failing in YOUR "responsibility.....to spend the people's money wisely"....without regard for accountability

Have you spent any time accounting for the billions of dollars "lost" in Iraq? Do you consider spending $12 billion a month in Iraq to be excessive? Where is YOUR responsibility, Mr. President?

Spend.... and spend..... and spend..... and spend..... and spend....is NOT a good economic policy.

(Ask any American sitting at their kitchen table.... trying to figure out how to pay THEIR bills.)

19. Tax and Spend = HOW GOVERNMENT FUCKING WORKS.
Yes, God forbid the Democrats suggest a budget that gives the slightest nod toward social spending, and actually suggests paying for a budget aimed at general social welfare via fair taxation....

... that as opposed to Republicans, who spent wildly and excessively at every turn without any plan to pay for it, throwing our country deeper and deeper into debt, weakening our economic standing around the world, pushing us toward the brink of ruin, all the while leaving more and more Americans behind while the wealthiest few reap the benefits.

Brilliant.

20. OMG. He has the chutzpah to talk about spending OUR money wisely?
He's kidding, right? He does know that he's basically bankrupted us, that we are going to have the trillions that went to his cronies taken our of our paychecks, our retirement, our schools, etc.?

RESIGN! You're a disgrace to this country.

Edited on Sat Jul-07-07 11:50 PM by pat_k
Madam Speaker is introducing an impeachment resolution against Bush and Cheney for torture, abuse of signing statements, and criminal surveillance program. The Judiciary Committee will hold hearings to present the case next week. Democratic leaders expect Articles to be on their way to the Senate by the 16th.
If only. . . . If only the Dems could see that Impeachment is the answer to EVERYTHING. It's an unprecedented opportunity to reap political benefits galore (not to mention that impeachment is demanded by their oath.)
