Vitter scandal goes partisan in Louisiana
Source: The Times-Picaqune

NEW ORLEANS (AP) — The scandal surrounding Sen. David Vitter is sparking a partisan fight as the state Democratic Party chairman called Vitter an "embarrassment" and Republicans rallied behind their embattled senator.

For his part, Vitter remained out of sight Thursday, the third straight day of hiding since he acknowledged on Monday that his telephone number appeared on the list of a woman accused of running a prostitution ring.

"Rather than proving to be a leader, he's proving to be an embarrassment," Chris Whittington, the state Democratic chairman, said on Thursday night.

Whittington also said Vitter's "actions and remaining time in seclusion show his blatant disregard for his duties in the Senate by missing votes."

Check out David Vitter's views back in October of 1998 on why Clinton should be impeached:

"Some current polls may suggest that people are turned off by the whole Clinton mess and don't care -- because the stock market is good, the Clinton spin machine is even better or other reasons. But that doesn't answer the question of whether President Clinton should be impeached and removed from office because he is morally unfit to govern.

The writings of the Founding Fathers are very instructive on this issue. They are not cast in terms of political effectiveness at all but in terms of right and wrong -- moral fitness. Hamilton writes in the Federalists Papers (No. 65) that impeachable offenses are those that "proceed from the misconduct of public men, or, in other words, from the abuse or violation of some public trust."

Live by the sword, die by the sword eh Mr. Vitter?

I could not care less what he did/does in his private sex life; but since he seemed to care so very deeply about what President Clinton did in his private sex life and how it effects his ability to lead --- I expect he will apply the same standards to himself? Right???

Or certainly he will be reminded of his past words....again and again until he does.

1. Republicans are worthless hypocrites.
They don't care about their own hypocrisy. They do whatever it takes to get elected - or appointed and then they rake in the dough.

And the corporate-owned media laugh with them all the way to the bank.

5. Petition Demanding Hypocrite Senator David Vitter's Resignation
This past week we not only learned that LA. U.S. Senator David Vitter's name appeared on a D.C. call-girl list of phone numbers but that he is also alleged to have done business with a prostitution business right in his own home state. This Bible thumping, family values hypocrite ran on a campaign of moral values, knowing that he himself, was living a deceitful lie and it's time for him to go!

Enough of these lies from dirty, low down people that pass laws and judgment of other people...laws that often send people to jail or prison and destroy careers & families.

Senator David Vitter must go! And we have placed an online petition demanding that he resign.

Please pass this petition link on to anyone you know that can add their name to the list of those demanding he pack his bags and go back home and pray his wife doesn't do the Lorena Bobbit routine she promised if "her husband" ever pulled a stunt like this!

Sign the petition and please pass it on to every individual you know whether Democrat, Republican, or Independent.

The petition can be found at:
http://www.ipetitions.com/petition/ResignNow/index.html

In the interest of honest, fair disclosure & to protect myself from reprisal, I am using an alias name (AKA) because I am involved in other political causes. I have considered running for public office many times and have come to the conclusion that a few misdemeanors on my own record would be a barrier to public service. Rather than run, I direct my energies to helping others with more distinguished records get elected. If public office is beyond the reach of some of us with not-so-perfect records, surely lying, cheating, two-faced hypocrites like Senator Vitter should have the common decency to step down when caught.

I ask you to help me ratchet up the pressure this week and put the heat on Vitter to Resign Now!

Thank you,
David Jacobsen
Concerned Voter Tired of these Hypocrites

22. Typical REPUKE hypocrite - but I repeat myself...
NOTE TO REPUKES LURKING HERE:

We Democrats, would normally care less about a person's private sexual life. But since YOU are the one the FIRST, FOREMOST, and QUITE LOUDLY and RELENTLESSLY have made a LIFELONG CAREER of sticking your nose in people's bedrooms, it is quite naturally extremely FAIR to now CALL YOU on your STINKING HYPOCRICY. If is were a Democrat who were discovered to have had such sexual escapades, WE STILL WOULDN'T CARE, BECAUSE THE DEMOCRATIC PARTY, UNLIKE THE REPUKE PARTY, DOESN'T MAKE ANY HABIT OF EVER CARING WHAT OTHERS DO IN THEIR BEDROOMS. PERIOD.

Get it? I'm sure you will refuse to.

while pontificating as if he was "Daddy dearest" and knew what was best for others. Since he decided his only responsibility was to God and his wife (and not the public) - the people of Louisiana should drive to Washington and clean out his desk FOR him. That act alone indicates he isn't interested in serving the public - only his God and. . .well, perhaps sometimes...his wife.

It' such a lovely state to live in. In the national embarrassment category lately we've had William "Dollar Bill" Jefferson and his $90K of cash in the freezer (and a Dem no less), Billy "I love my momma and my pharmaceutical lobby" Tauzin featured so prominently in SiCKO, Bob "Whips and Chains" Livingston, also outed by Flynt, and now David "Diaper Man" Vitter. I gotta wonder what the hell will come out next.
