Former Iraqi PM Allawi says "big disaster" to come
Source: Reuters

LONDON, July 16 (Reuters) - Iraq is on the verge of deeper disaster, and the violence that kills hundreds of people every week will only get worse in the months ahead, the country's first post-Saddam prime minister said on Monday.

Iyad Allawi, who headed Iraq's post-invasion government for six months from June 2004, said he saw little sign that sectarianism or terrorism would die down soon, and that he feared U.S. troops would start to withdraw next year.

"The country is slipping into more chaos, more sectarianism and more divisions," Allawi, who now spends much of his time in London, told Reuters in an interview.

...

"The insurgency is stronger than ever, and it's getting stronger, and it's going to go on getting stronger. I think what we see now is less than what we will see in a few months ... Reconciliation is further away than at any time in the past."

21. Allawi is not the only former exile back in exile
There is a steady exodus of professionals and small business owners out of Iraq into neighboring Jordan and Syria. According to UN, 2 million Iraqis have left the country, and a million and a half are living as refugees in their own country.

3. ...."the Iraqi forces are not ready yet".
I'm sorry, but every time I hear or read that rehashed statement I want to scream. :wtf: does it TAKE to GET Iraqi forces "ready"? How long does it take the Iraqi forces to get "ready"? Any army in the world can crank out soldiers within 6 months to a year. The Iraqis have been at it for over 4 years now and they STILL aren't "ready"?

The Iraqi army is holding the U.S. army hostage saying that they're not well equipped enough, not well trained enough, not "ready". BULLSHIT! They don't have the will to clean up Bush's mess and Bush is stupid enough and his ego large enough to keep sacrificing life after life in hopes that a miracle will happen and the Iraqi army will someday be "ready". (and that Iraq's oil is safely in the hands of his oil company pals.)

Until American troops leave Iraq the Iraqi army will never "step up, so we can step down".

4. so then the ''surge'' or more accurately -- ''clear, hold and build''
isn't going to produce the desired results.

and because -- no matter how much trainig we seem to give this iraqi ''army'' -- they can't seem to get excited enough about this democracy we -- or rather george -- has given them to die for it.

indeed rather let the americans continue to stand -- as often as possible -- between the iraqi ''army'' and the insurgents.

iraq? -- you need to look deep, deep inside your Self -- and so do we.

in six weeks? That's right, in the same amount of time it would take you to receive the latest Ronco "As Seen On TV" kitchen gadget or Time-Life's "Best Love Songs of the 80's" in the mail, you can have a renewed hope of a stable, functioning Iraq. Oh ye of little faith!

18. As Bush was quoted as saying on the Charlie Rose show, May 5, 2007
"Give my chance a plan to work".

All he needs is a plan to put everything right.
