Terror Free Tomorrow is a non-partisan, 501(c)(3) not-for-profit organization established in Washington, D.C. We are the only organization dedicated to a new strategic vision: leading the fight against terror by winning the popular support that empowers global terrorists.
Presidents Bill Clinton and George H.W. Bush have recognized Terror Free Tomorrow's work. The U.S. Senate, the State Department and the Pentagon have also cited Terror Free Tomorrow’s polling as important benchmarks. ADVISORY BOARD
John McCain
U.S. Senator John McCain (R-AZ) is the senior Senator from Arizona, with a long and distinguished career of public service.
Senator McCain is universally acknowledged as one of America’s foremost leaders in foreign and military affairs. He has played a leading role in the fight against terrorism.
After graduating from the Naval Academy in 1958, John McCain began his career as a Naval aviator. During the Vietnam War, Mr. McCain’s plane was shot down over North Vietnam, where he spent five and one half years as POW in Hanoi. In 1982, he was elected to Congress representing what was then the first congressional district of Arizona. In 1986, he was elected to the United States Senate to take the place of Arizona's Senator Barry Goldwater.
In 2000, Senator McCain ran unsuccessfully for the Republican nomination for President of the United States. He is currently the Chairman of the Senate Committee on Indian Affairs, and serves on the Armed Services, and Commerce, Science, and Transportation Committees in the Senate.
Lee H. Hamilton
Lee H. Hamilton recently served, to much acclaim, as Co-Chair of the National Commission on Terrorist Attacks Upon the United States—The 9/11 Commission.
Mr. Hamilton is now the Director of the Woodrow Wilson International Center in Washington, DC. Prior to becoming Director of the Wilson Center, Lee Hamilton served for thirty-four years as a United States Congressman from Indiana. During his tenure, he was both Chairman and Ranking Member of the House Committee on Foreign Affairs (now the Committee on International Relations), and chaired the Subcommittee on Europe and the Middle East from the early 1970s until 1993. Mr. Hamilton also was Chairman of the Permanent Select Committee on Intelligence, and the Select Committee to Investigate Covert Arms Transactions with Iran. Mr. Hamilton established himself as a leading congressional voice on foreign affairs, with particular interest in promoting peace and stability in the Middle East and overhauling U.S. foreign aid.
Mr. Hamilton also was a Commissioner on the United States Commission on National Security in the 21st Century (the Hart-Rudman Commission), and was Co-Chair with former Senator Howard Baker of the Baker-Hamilton Commission to Investigate Certain Security Issues. He is currently a member of the advisory council for the U.S. Department of Homeland Security.
Thomas H. Kean
Thomas H. Kean recently served, also to considerable acclaim, as Co-Chair of the 9/11 Commission.
Mr. Kean is the former governor of New Jersey (1982-1990) and, since 1990, the president of Drew University. Governor Kean also served for ten years in the New Jersey Assembly, rising to the positions of majority leader, minority leader, and speaker. As governor, he served on the President's Education Policy Advisory Committee and as chair of the Education Commission of the States and the National Governor's Association Task Force on Teaching.
While president of Drew, Mr. Kean has served on a number of national committees and commissions. He headed the American delegation to the UN Conference on Youth, and served as vice chairman of the American delegation to the World Conference on Women. He also served on the National Endowment for Democracy. He is a former chair of the Carnegie Corporation of New York, and on the board of many organizations, including the Robert Wood Johnson Foundation and the National Council of the World Wildlife Fund.
Slade Gorton
Slade Gorton also served with distinction as a Commissioner on the 9/11 Commission.
Mr. Gorton represented Washington State in the United States Senate for 18 years, from 1982 to 2000. While in the Senate, Senator Gorton was a member of the Republican leadership, and served on the Appropriations, Budget, Commerce, Science and Transportation, and Energy and Natural Resources Committees. He served as Chairman of the Interior Appropriations Subcommittee (1995-2001), the Commerce Subcommittees on Consumer Affairs (1995-99), and Aviation (1999-2000).
Thomas S. Foley
Ambassador Thomas S. Foley is currently the chairman of the Trilateral Commission.
Mr. Foley served as the 25th U.S. ambassador to Japan. Before taking up his diplomatic post in November 1997, Ambassador Foley served as the 49th Speaker of the U. S. House of Representatives. He was elected to represent the state of Washington's Fifth Congressional District 15 times, serving his constituents for 30 years from January 1965 to December 1994.
Mr. Foley served as House Majority Leader from 1987 until his election as Speaker of the House on June 6, 1989. As Majority Leader, Mr. Foley served on the Permanent Select Committee on Intelligence, the Committee on the Budget, the Select Committee to Investigate Covert Arms Transactions with Iran, and as Chairman of the House Geneva Arms Talks Observer Team.
Mr. Foley has served on a number of private and public boards of directors, including the Japan-America Society of Washington, the Center for Strategic and International Studies, the Asia Foundation, the East-West Center and the Council on Foreign Relations. Before his appointment as ambassador, he served as Chairman of the President's Foreign Intelligence Advisory Board.
Stephen W. Bosworth
Ambassador Bosworth is currently the Dean of The Fletcher School at Tufts University, one of the leading graduate schools of international affairs in the world. He also serves on the Board of Directors of the Council on Foreign Relations.
Prior to his appointment at The Fletcher School, Ambassador Bosworth served as U.S. Ambassador to the Republic of Korea (1997-2001). Earlier, he served as the Ambassador to Tunisia and to the Philippines. He was President of the United States Japan Foundation, and was also the State Department’s Director of Policy Planning, Principal Deputy Assistant Secretary, and Deputy Assistant Secretary for Economic Affairs. He is also a member of the International Board of Advisers for the President of the Philippines.
Louis Caldera
Louis Caldera recently served as President of the University of New Mexico.
Mr. Caldera served as Secretary of the Army from 1998 to 2001. Secretary Caldera, together with the Army's Chief of Staff, General Eric K. Shinseki, set into motion a new vision for a more versatile and highly deployable force. During his tenure, Secretary Caldera also successfully led a reversal of recruiting shortfalls and initiated a range of highly popular educational programs for soldiers and potential recruits. As Managing Director and Chief Operating Officer of the Corporation for National and Community Service from 1997 to 1998, Mr. Caldera ran the federal grant-making agency that supports the volunteer service programs AmeriCorps, the National Senior Service Corps and Learn and Serve America.
Mr. Caldera’s current affiliations include the Council on Foreign Relations, and the boards of Claremont McKenna College, Albuquerque Economic Development Corporation, and the Greater Albuquerque Chamber of Commerce, among others.
Husain Haqqani
Husain Haqqani is a leading Pakistani journalist, diplomat, and former advisor to three Pakistani prime ministers. He is a syndicated columnist for Indian Express, Gulf News, and The Nation (Pakistan).
Mr. Haqqani is currently a visiting scholar at the Carnegie Endowment for International Peace and co-chair of the Hudson Institute's Islam and Democracy Project.
Mr. Haqqani's journalism career includes work as correspondent for Arabia - The Islamic World Review and the Far Eastern Economic Review. He contributes to numerous international publications, including Wall Street Journal, New York Times, Los Angeles Times, Financial Times, Boston Globe, International Herald Tribune, and Arab News. He regularly comments on Pakistan, Afghanistan, and Islamic politics and extremism on BBC, CNN, NBC, and ABC.
Mr. Haqqani also has a distinguished career in the government of Pakistan. He previously served as Pakistani ambassador, and as a political advisor to Pakistani Prime ministers Ghulam Mustafa Jatoi, Nawaz Sharif, and Benazir Bhutto.
Mohammed Odeh Al-Rehaief
Mohammed Al-Rehaief came to the United States in April 2003 from Iraq, where he contributed to the rescue of former POW Jessica Lynch. He and his family were subsequently granted political asylum in the United States.
Born in Najaf, Iraq, he was enrolled in school in Nasiriyah and Baghdad. He received a degree in political law from Basra University and studied French for a year following university. He practiced law in Iraq.
Mr. Al-Rehaief is now a member of The Livingston Group in Washington, D.C., working with former Congressman Robert L. Livingston (R-LA).
Muhammad Qodari
Muhammad Qodari received an advanced degree from Indonesia University and his post-graduate degree in politics from University of Essex, England. He subsequently worked for the preeminent Indonesian think-tank, the Center for Strategic and International Studies, in Jakarta, Indonesia. Mr. Qodari has also served as Director of Research in charge of all surveys and polling for LSI, a leading polling firm in Indonesia.
Mr. Qodari is a noted columnist and political commentator in Indonesia. His columns on social and political issues regularly appear in Indonesia’s most established magazines and daily newspapers, such as Tempo, Kompas, The Jakarta Post, and Media Indonesia.
Robin Wiener
Robin Wiener is currently a Board Member and Treasurer of Families of September 11, the leading organization representing family members of the victims of 9/11.
A lawyer by training, Ms. Wiener was involved in the activities of the 9/11 Commission and in pushing for legislation supporting its recommendations. Her brother, Jeffrey Wiener was at the World Trade Center.
Terror Free Tomorrow is endorsed by the Families of September 11.
James Kreindler
Jim Kreindler is the leading attorney in the United States for victims of terrorist attacks.
Mr. Kreindler is co-chair of the 9/11 Plaintiffs’ Committee suing terrorist financiers and supporters. He is also currently taking the lead role as a member of the Plaintiffs’ Committee in the Pan Am 103 families’ suit against Libya, which has already produced over $2 billion in additional compensation for the families of the Lockerbie victims, the only time any foreign state ever made such a payment to terrorist victims. Mr. Kreindler also played a major role in the litigation against Pan Am arising from the Flight 103 disaster over Lockerbie, Scotland as a member of the Plaintiffs’ Trial Team.
Mansoor Moaddel
Professor Mansoor Moaddel is one of the foremost academic authorities studying the causes and consequences of values, ideologies and attitudes of the Middle Eastern and Islamic publics.
Dr. Moaddel (Ph.D., University of Wisconsin-Madison/ B.A., Shiraz University-Iran) teaches sociology of religion, ideology, Islam and the Middle East, as well as statistics and research, and is affiliated with both the University of Michigan and Eastern Michigan University. He has carried out values surveys in Egypt, Iran, Iraq, Jordan, Morocco, and Saudi Arabia. He has also carried out youth surveys in Egypt and Saudi Arabia. His previous research analyzed the determinants of ideology in the Islamic world.

PROFESSIONAL STAFF
Kenneth Ballen
Ken Ballen has spent more than 20 years on the frontlines in law enforcement, intelligence oversight, crime prevention and congressional investigations. As a federal prosecutor, Ken successfully prosecuted international terrorists. Ken also prosecuted major figures in organized crime, international narcotics and one of the first cases in the United States involving illegal financing for Middle Eastern terrorists. Ken served as Counsel to the Iran-Contra Committee under Chairman Lee Hamilton, where he was the lead investigator for the intelligence and military aspects of U.S. support for the Contra war in Central America, and responsible for questioning key witnesses during the nationally televised hearings. Among other assignments on Capitol Hill, Ken also served as Chief Counsel to a bi-partisan Senate special investigative committee with Senator John McCain; and as Chief Counsel to the House Steering and Policy Committee for its Chairman Speaker Thomas Foley, where he directed policy initiatives on crime prevention and security, intelligence oversight and select national security matters for the U.S. House of Representatives. Ken received his J.D. with honors in 1980 from Columbia Law School, where he was an Editor of the Columbia Law Review. He is also an honors graduate of The Fletcher School of Law and Diplomacy, obtaining a M.A. in International Affairs. He received his B.A. summa cum laude from Tufts University in 1977.
Andi Hutomo
Andi Hutomo, an Indonesian citizen, attended Surabaya University in Indonesia, as well as Southeastern University in Washington, DC. Among other assignments in Indonesia, Andi worked for the French Consulate in Surabaya, as well as a reporter for Warta Ubaya. Andi is fluent in Bahasa Indonesia, Javanese and English, and is also an experienced computer programmer.

Andrew Klingenstein is a prominent venture capitalist, having also served as a federal prosecutor for the District of Columbia and as an assistant to Senator Richard Lugar (R-IN).
Andrew Claster is Vice President at Penn, Schoen & Berland Associates, one of the leading international public opinion survey firms, with research spanning over 70 countries. Andrew has more than nine years experience designing, analyzing and conducting public opinion polls throughout Asia, Latin America, Europe and the United States. Andrew earned his Masters degree in Economics from the London School of Economics and his Bachelors degree in Political Science from Yale University.
Nancy Lubin is one of the foremost experts in the United States on the Muslim nations of Central Asia. She is a Senior Fellow at the American Foreign Policy Council, a member of the Council on Foreign Relations, and the Board of Trustees of the Eurasia Foundation.
John Sopko is one of the leading counter-terrorism experts in the country. He currently serves as Chief Counsel for Oversight for the House Committee on Energy and Commerce, and formerly Manager of the Homeland Security Institute, Chief of Investigations for the House Select Committee on Homeland Security and Chief Investigative Counsel for the Senate Governmental Affairs Committee under Senator Sam Nunn (D-GA).
