New President of Congress, Luis Gonzales Speaks on Peru's Economy

LIP-ir) -- Peru' new President of Congress, Luis Gonzales Posada, has assured that Peru is on its way towards development for the first time in history and that after a stage of 'sowing', which has made the administration unpopular, a time of 'reaping' awaits this coming year.

The recently elected President of Congress, member of the APRA party, affirmed that Peru shows excellent signs of the economy's extraordinary growth, the highest in Latin America, with inflation rates at zero and international reserves that exceed US$ 21 billion.

"For the first time in history, Peru has found its way," stated Posada on the "Mesa Central" program, broadcast by TV Peru.

Posada stated to believe that the administration's low popularity rate (recent polls showed that only approximately 35 percent of the country approved of the new administration) was due to a time of "sowing", the country had to go through.

(LIP-ir) -- Due to the color, lighting, music and beauty of the fountains, the Magical Water Tour will be a place of reflection and inspiration for all Peruvians, stated Peru's President Alana Garcia, alongside Lima's Mayor Luis Castañeda at the inauguration of the new attraction last night.

Peru's Chief of State pointed out that the new fountains, built at the Parque de la Reserva, will equip Peru's capital city with an attraction that other countries around the world also have.

On that note he stated that the 13 ornamental fountains would quickly become, in short time, one of Peru's main tourist attractions and contribute to the country's image, the same way Machu Picchu has.

The President added that the Parque de la Reserva was the adequate place for the beautiful works of art. Garica went on to congratulate Mayor Castañeda for having headed the construction of a sight which could now be appreciated by many.

Mayor Castañeda stated that having the best fountains in the world and having participated in such a project had been a dream come true.

Why worry about the massive poverty, when you can get the country to finance super fountains like these? :woohoo:

Way to go, pResident Garcia!

1. "Sowing..."
Peru has been "sowing" for half a millenium. When shall the harvest begin? Not so long as the likes of Garcia are in power.

2. Thirteen ornamental fountains...
I would say something about bread and circuses, but that would require actual bread...

4. He may not survive his term. Then Peru will join the amazing, peaceful,
democratic, leftist (majorityist) revolution that is sweeping South America, with leftist governments elected in Venezuela, Bolivia, Ecuador, Argentina, Brazil, Chile, Uruguay, also Nicaragua, and soon Paraguay.

Neo-liberalism is dead. The people of South America have spoken (after doing boffo work on transparent elections) (--U.S. voters, take note!). Peru is one of the last to get the word. A real leftist came out of nowhere, and, with no political experience and no financial backing, won 45% of the vote last year. He (Ollanta Humala) or some other genuine representative of the people will be back. And one of the few Bush pals left on the continent (Garcia, and Uribe in Colombia--that's about it) will be gone.
