Perry goes on attack against Democrats

AUSTIN — He skipped Texas' GOP straw poll, but Gov. Rick Perry delivered a red-meat speech at the California Republican Party convention scoffing at Al Gore over global warming and taking on Nancy Pelosi and the Clintons.

"I've heard Al Gore talk about man-made global warming so much that I'm starting to think that his mouth is the leading source of all that supposedly deadly carbon dioxide," Perry said in last Friday's prepared speech, a week after the presidential straw poll in Fort Worth.

Pelosi?

"Let's make sure the Nancy Pelosi speakership is just an asterisk in the history of our country."

Hillary Clinton's effort to follow her husband as president?

"We must move heaven and earth to make sure we never see another Clinton in the White House."

California, where Gov. Arnold Schwarzenegger urged a centrist approach?

"California is too important ... to allow a bankrupt, liberal political philosophy to dominate the direction of this state."

Whose speech would you rather hear?

Perry the Magnificent?

Or Steve Colbert?

1. God forbid any Republican should hear something they don't want to hear...
My wife thinks I'm an anti-Republican bigot. Or, at least, she's said so in the past. Considering I think the whole breed is nucking futz, I'm afraid she may be right. They take stupidity to a whole new level. Willful, stubborn ignorance as a virtue.

Would somebody please rapture them already? The world would be better off.

7. Perry is an ass that is on the take from foreign companies
that run toll roads. Even Republic Kay Bailey Hutchinson had to introduce a bill in the Senate to short-circuit Perry's plan to pay the federal government for all the roads in Texas built with federal funds and turn them into toll roads.

8. Toll roads from public funded construction.
They did it where I live. Frisco, Texas, does not have a major ingress/egress to it that is not a toll road. Building infrastructure with public money and selling it off is just one more new way the GOP has discovered to bilk money from honest hard working citizens. BTW, Rick Perry's 24 year old son just happens to be a VP in a company taking over the state lottery. How crooked does one have to be for the redneck cowboys to wake up and see they are getting screwed and not even getting a kiss?

10. What a fucking clown
Texas has become the Alabama or Mississippi of the new century. On any "chart" you might want to compare Texas to any other State, it fails miserably. The only 2 I can think of that they score at the top are prisoners put to death, and pollution. What a shit state.
