October 23, 2007

DELTA TWP. - Third-shift workers at the General Motors Corp. Lansing Delta Township assembly plant and the auto parts suppliers that support it will be out of work in a month.

The automaker said Monday that it is getting rid of the third shift at the assembly plant after the Nov. 22 Thanksgiving holiday. The move could result in the layoff of as many as 1,000 people at the GM plant, and possibly more at the supplier plants.

The plant makes the Buick Enclave, Saturn Outlook and GMC Acadia. Low-seniority workers and temporary workers are the ones in danger of layoffs.

GM spokespeople said the company always had intended the third shift to be a temporary measure as the plant geared up toward full production.

1. Listen to that Bewshconomy just CHUG along!
GM mismanages - workers pay.

Oh well, they'll get jobs at MalWart and Wendy's. It's the Dumberican way. Mansions can't just sit there with no one in 'em, you know.

Same old story. Same old song and dance.

stock market crashing? YEEHAH!!!! i don't own any stock

no raises or bonuses this year? YEEHAH!!! i don't have a job

when the almost rich guys who think they are ACTUALLY republicans finally realize that they are really part of the working class...
and when workers finally realize that UNION wages and MINIMUM wage are what keeps most of us at a living wage...
when the houseN####s realize that they are just the same as the fieldN####s... and that the $300 tax BBQ up by the plantation house is over...

then maybe the country will have the guts to vote for a PRO LABOR president...

socialized medicine........ DONT BE FOOLED..... the pharma and GOP just want you to get NOTHING so they call it names and
belittle people who speak for the poor---

anyone who is watching the game can realize that TAXES are good... a method of INCOME LEVELING the wealthy to pay for all of us

THE YEARS OF REAGAN PISS-ON-YOU-ECONOMICS HAVE TAKEN THEIR TOLL... AMERICANS WORK MORE HOURS, PLAY LESS, AND ARE STILL POOR AS SHIT
