Dozens gathered outside Beckley Appalachian Regional Hospital for a rally Saturday in support of nurses who’ve been on strike since Sept. 30.

Negotiations between hospital officials and the United Nurses Association broke down in Lexington, Ky., on Wednesday when hospital officials walked out of the meeting chaired by a federal mediator.

1. this will be interesting
because those of us who follow WV politics know that Joe Manchin has his eye on bigger and better things

he'd make a perfect VP candidate-he's a conservative Democrat in a swing state

he could easily use this strike to his advantage

2. Yes it will be. I don't agree with Manchin on a lot
of social issues, but I think he's been a pretty good governor. I wasn't very happy with him when Charlotte Pritt was running, but I'm older and not nearly as idealistic. Great speaker, isn't he?

3. I don't know about W.Va......
but Kentucky has a most Nurse UN-friendly reputation backed up by some nasty court cases.
