The second criminal case of a Poway defense contractor convicted of bribing former Rep. Randy “Duke” Cunningham may head to the East Coast.

Brent Wilkes and Kyle “Dusty” Foggo – the former No. 3 official at the CIA – are charged with numerous counts of fraud, conspiracy and money laundering.
Wilkes and Foggo, friends since childhood, have pleaded not guilty.

During a hearing yesterday, Judge Larry A. Burns said moving the case to the Eastern District of Virginia – its main courthouse is in Alexandria – would make it easier for the 90 percent of the potential witnesses who live on the East Coast.

Hmm... Sounds like they might be going after some big fish now if they are going to move this trial to Washington.

If by going after Foggo and Wilkes they will be crossing paths with AIPAC, the ATC, and other war profiteer groups, perhaps we should try to push the prosecution to try and get Sibel Edmonds on the stand, if she knows things related to these cases. Then we can get her on the stand and perhaps get out her story too! She lives right near the courthouse if it is moved to Alexandria, so no "threatening travel" would be needed to get there.

It would be interesting to see who would be prosecuting these cases in the DC area. Fitz? (I could hope!!)

1. Moving it away from California judges to DC judges?
But thanks for trying to link this to a Jewish conspiracy. "AIPAC...and other war profiteer groups." "Other"?

So championing Israel is "war profiteering"? Fine. Show me the profits.

2. Brent Scowcroft, is on the board of Qualcomm leads both AIPAC and the ATC hired away Carol Lam...
So that they couldn't have pursued prosecution of this bum with her working with U.S. Attorney's office instead under contract as well as some Dems asked to have happen then.

OK, I won't say that AIPAC itself is a "war profiteer" group. But the many ties that are hinted towards that with the Larry Franklin and other Israeli spy investigations hint that war profiteers and these groups are all linked. I would argue that Scowcroft sitting in key positions in both AIPAC (Israeli PAC) and The ATC (Turkish PAC) reflects more his desire to work for deals for the military complex with those two countries than representing their broad interests. It is no secret that AIPAC has been one of the key lobbyists trying to push for a war stance with Iran, when the people of Israel, when polled, do NOT support a U.S. attack on Iran.

3. Don't be taken in by this move.
You have to realize that the Virginia federal court is the most REPUBLICAN ORIENTATED IN THE NATION. They still have all the republican judges appointed by Reagan and Bush.

4. Yes, I was a bit concerned about that too...
I think when they had judges objecting to the secret proceedings in the 9th district court here on Kontogiannis's trial the prosecution perhaps thought that DC might be better to try and run a "secret court"... And of course it was weird that even though some of those proceedings were too "damaging" to national security to be released to the public, they apparently could be released to Wilkes' lawyers for his subsequent court case later. Huh? It would be worth studying to see who will be the judge and other parts of these proceedings.
