Army Recruiter Facing Child Porn Charges
Source: Associated Press

Jonesboro, Ark. (AP) -- Jonesboro police arrested an Army recruiter they say tried to solicit sex from a 16-year-old girl he met during a high school visit.

Greggory John DeBoer, 28, is charged with felony possession of child pornography, though police said he could soon face other charges.

The girl said she met DeBoer during a recruiting trip to her school in October and that the two began communicating by phone and the Internet the following day, Jonesboro police detective Ernest Ward wrote in an affidavit.

... DeBoer told officers he had been in the Army for 9 1/2 years, two of those in Jonesboro, Ward wrote. DeBoer is married and a father, and has no prior criminal record, Ward said.

2. Chicano? No. Latino? No. Republicano?? Let me guess.
I'm guessing the answer starts with a "y" and ends with "es" and is three letters long.

6. Call me puzzled
... or confused. In any event I will probably be flamed.

What sort of prurience make this wrong?

Did he have sex with her? No
Did he photograph her? No
Did he abuse a position of authority? No
Did he force her to communicate by phone or internet? No
Did he distribute her photograph to his friends? No

People who go to schools to talk about other careers are not "in positions of authority" any more than a guy helping to fix the plumbing is in a "position of authority. So, why - apart from the fact his job is despised by some board members - is Mr DeBoer in the wrong? Why did one board member jump to the conclusion that Mr De Boer was Republican?

If he had been am 18 year old recruit, would there still be a problem? If he had been a 19 year old College student, is there still a problem? If they had married, would there have been a problem?

Let's take the baggage out of this "crime". A 28 year old married man communicates with a 16 year old. During this time he asks for 3 three things: to have a photograph, which she provides; to have a nude photograph, which she provides; and to have sexual intercourse, which she refuses. We do not know the emotional or religious background; he might be a two-timing worm or his wife might be a haridan: I repeat, we do not know.

7. Call me Perplexed
"Intent" Sex with a 16-year old is illegal in most states and his intent was to violate that statute. That's a crime, intent to do any illegal activity is often a crime.

8. Yeah, that's definitely two crimes
Shows the morality involved with recruiting kids, barely older than children, to go take high risk with their lives fighting an illegal war of occupation. Shows how low the military has fallen in that department.

Hope this turns a few heads at the top - and I don't mean Bush, but good miltary leaders tired of losing face over neocon lies and the 'moral authority' neocons have taken over with.

You can thank Mark Foley for that law.

And he did it with federal government property (phone and computer).
