37. Oh and check it out, Trent Lott's son is a lobbyist too.
Name's Chester Trent Lott, Jr.

Hmmm. I wonder if there's anything in the new rules about members of congress having immediate family in the lobbying business.

11. If it's Lott, I wanna know what Flynt's got.
Gay closeted senators who have been arrested are staying.

Diaper-wearing fetishist senators are staying.

What on God's earth could be so bad that a Republican senator would LEAVE?

He said something like, a picture of you in bed with Strom Thurmond's corpse. With his voice, I couldn't really make it out clearly.

12. So he's generously sparing the voters the "inconvenience" of an actual election to replace him?...
Is Gov. Blagojevich a Republican, by any chance? That would mean a Repub appointment to replace Big Denny.

Just asking.

30. Representatives are not appointed. They have to have a special election.
Governors get to appoint only when a US Senator resigns or otherwise terminates their position. (Maybe other states have other methods but generally it is the Governor. I think in at least one state the legislative body provides 3 names for the Governor to pick the successor.)

Unless it is close enough to the general election.

And I'm stealing your graphic.

It might have more to do with Hastert's connections to Ted Stevens and the whole Alaskan CBC stinkpot, but maybe it's a perfect storm.
