Clinton builds her crowd, ad-libs and welcomes Bill O'Reilly
Source: USA Today

Hillary Clinton looked around the gym at Merrimack High School in Penacook, N.H., this morning, and didn't like what she saw -- empty chairs, empty bleachers. She urged her aides to go get some of the scores of people waiting in the hallways and outside on the sidewalk.

"Everybody come on in," Clinton said, interrupting her presentation as they streamed in the door. "I'm filling time," she said, laughing. "The writers are on strike. I don't have a lot of good material. I can fill a few minutes."

. . .

When everyone was seated, Clinton quickly moved to questions. Her first questioner said Bill O'Reilly, the Fox News personality, wanted to know her plan for removing troops from Iraq.

"Bill O'Reilly! How are you?" Clinton greeted him with a big grin. The audience booed, but she interrupted.:"You gotta give him points for courage."

1. I'm surprised
That O'Reilly didn't ask a tougher or more accusatory question.

10. Your point?
Is this another lead-in to a bashing stream of posts against Clinton?

12. No. I'm a Clinton defender
Its just an observation. I would expect O'Reilly to ask something like, "Why do you think we can stop terrorism by inviting terrorists to encounter groups?" or something like that.

13. Sorry!!
I'm so used to Clinton bashers here (I'm not a fan of hers but she IS a DEMOCRAT!!) that I overreacted. Many times when someone here introduces the idea of Rupert Murdoch it evolves into a connection (strained as it might be) between him and Clinton.

My apologies for overreacting.

5. In a fight with an Obama aide
Pulled the same stunt of making a spectacle of himself at an Obama rally today and got in a screaming and pushing match with an Obama aide. The Secret Service had to step in.

18. Yeahhhh, Unions!
We need stronger unions- weak unions are a big reason why corporations have been able to run rough-shod these past seven years. OK- I CAN think of one other little bushie reason....

22. You know, I've been for Edwards straight thru.
But he is now positioning himself as just like Obama and both of them against Hillary. Since destroying Edwards is all Obama really needs now...I kinda think this is dumb. I also read the subtext: I'm just like Obama EXCEPT WHITE.

I don't appreciate lies and smears about my second choice candidate, especially from my first choice. As long as you have an Edwards icon, you seem to be talking for him. Don't. It doesn't help a thing.

17. She Played O'Reilly
O'Reilly spews too much nonsense to matter to anyone. Clinton used the opening well- she makes all Dems proud. Even you tough guys on this list who don't want to admit this woman is a HUGE POSITIVE for the platform...!

By the way-- interesting observation I heard earlier today about how inexperienced shrub was when he came into office. His inexperience (among other things) has cost us all dearly these past seven years. Where does inexperience in a candidate sound familiar... hmmmm, let me think.

I'm an Edwards supporter, but he is a one term Senator. Obama is also in his first term. Experience is only one factor to consider.

28. Obama was a state senator before his term in the U.S. Senate
johnnyboy din't even serve out one term in the senate. He was too busy running for president. That propably is why he has such a low ADA rating.
