Rally turns into 'angry mob' over tardy Giuliani in Florida
Michael Roston
Published: Thursday January 24, 2008

Presidential candidate Rudy Giuliani has insisted that a late victory in Florida will give his campaign the momentum it needs to lock down the Republican nomination. But a late arrival at a Florida campaign event on Wednesday antagonized some of the very supporters on whom the former New York mayor is relying in order to win the Jan. 29 primary in the Sunshine State.

"A friendly crowd of about 1,000 nearly turned into an angry mob waiting for Rudy Giuliani to appear at a downtown Irish pub in this well-heeled community this evening," wrote Dara Kam at the Palm Beach Post's 'One More Question' blog.

Kam reports that while Giuliani did not show up until 6 PM, calls from his campaign to supporters advised them to show up early for a 4:30 event, leaving "many elderly supporters wilting in the sun and others jeering as campaign surrogates pled for patience."

Looks like ghouliani and his incredibly idiotic and pointless "campaign" is about as hopeful of a win and a one legged man in a @ss-kicking contest... ROTFLMAO!!

Kicked and Recommended...and with luck, off the greatest page with thee!!

5. There was a "security scare" a couple of weeks ago..
at another one of his "rallies", and everybody had to be moved someplace else. I don't imagine Rudy is winning too many friends or influencing people with all of these missteps. Why was he late? Maybe he had to take a call from Judy?..:eyes:

9. Pitchforks
However, the newspaper's headline writers should read the articles they highlight. The article says nearly turned into a mob. Not that I would mind if he got his just desserts having suffered under his mayorship for 8 long ones. But it was a letdown to read nearly.

10. Rudy seems to be having an angry mob problem.
Tempers flare at Giuliani event

<snip>

"GOP hopeful Rudy Giuliani told diners at a restaurant in Palm Beach Gardens Wednesday that he supports a national catastrophic fund, an issue that has helped to distinguish him in the competitive Republican field in Florida the past two days.

Giuliani walked outside to meet and greet mall visitors, but went back into the restaurant after a few minutes because angry protesters and critics began yelling at him.

The scene turned chaotic briefly as supporters yelled back, but police were nearby and there was no violence. Some of the protesters were pro-life activists, critical of Giuliani's pro-choice views."

32. Giuliani came to my town a few weeks ago,
I went, mostly to watch, because Lakeland is boring. Sat at the coffee shop near the park he was going to appear at. He was supposed to be there at 8 o'clock, but finally showed up at about 9:30. Bunch of kids with Ron Paul signs out on the fringes, and a pair of anti-abortion protesters with signs and bullhorns.

34. sounds like a habit
On the other side of the issue, does anyone remember in the early months of 2001 when the corporate news media (I'm thinking NY Times and some of the networks) wrote articles about bush being timely, right down to the minute? If Air Force One was supposed to land at 8:15, it would land at 8:15? How disciplined he was and how he arrived everywhere on time?

Seems to me this should be a story.

Rudy's fall from grace. I'm enjoying it more than I should and I kinda hoped it would be his hometown that would wreck his chances on 2/5. Losing in FL will be very sweet as well.
