Schwarzenegger Popularity Dropping, Clinton On Top By 15 PointsSAN FRANCISCO -- A new poll released Friday by the San Francisco-based Public Policy Institute of California revealed pessimism about the state's economy has reached its highest level in years.
Some of the highlights of the poll included:
Pessimism about the state's economy has reached 72 percent. That is the highest point since the survey was first launched ten years ago. The number of those who "expect bad economic times" has increased by 33 percent since last January.
Gov. Arnold Schwarzenegger's popularity ratings have dropped from 57 to 50 percent in just one month, while the state Legislature's approval ratings are down from 41 to 34 percent.
