Oil rebounds on Turkish attacks

Oil prices have rebounded above $113 a barrel on concerns about Turkish air raids against Kurdish targets in Northern Iraq.

Worries about the raids appear to have outweighed the strengthening US dollar, which has pushed oil prices down in the last three days.

Before the latest flare-up between Turkish troops and Kurdish groups, the stronger dollar had been driving prices down.

1. The underlying massacre in it all...

The US government has given Turkey a free hand in attacking Kurds (who are very peaceful and relatively stable) in northern Iraq. The deal is that the US wants to remain allied with Turkey so that we can use their Air bases to jump from. Turkey doesn't want the Kurds in Iraq to break away and create their own nation for fear that Kurds in Turkey may wish to do the same (and join them).

So that's the short story of the hidden Turkish Massacre. Enjoy the historical precedence.
