EXCLUSIVE-Iran readies for battle at nuclear arms ban talks
Source: Reuters

UNITED NATIONS, May 3 (Reuters) - Iran has attacked the United States ahead of a major meeting on the troubled global anti-nuclear arms treaty, slamming U.S. cooperation with Israel and India while ignoring President Barack Obama's offers of dialogue.

Four working papers prepared for the meeting by Iran and obtained by Reuters show Tehran is redoubling its efforts to draw attention away from its own nuclear program by turning the spotlight on Washington for what it says are clear breaches of the 1970 Non-Proliferation Treaty, Western diplomats say.

The signatories of the 1970 NPT, which is aimed at halting the spread of nuclear arms and demands that those with atomic arsenals take steps to get rid of them, gather on Monday to prepare for a major conference in 2010 that many countries hope will result in an overhaul of the landmark treaty.

They want the nuclear powers to make good on disarmament pledges and agree on a plan to end loopholes that have enabled states like North Korea, which withdrew from the pact in 2003 and tested a nuclear device in 2006, to develop atomic weapons under cover of civilian nuclear energy programs.

1. Iran... readies for battle? ...nuclear??? .....ATTACKED US!!!....
Uh, is it me or is this written in the most outrageously misleading and paranoid inducing language ever?

It's about an upcoming meeting and some "working papers", not imminent nuclear war with....BE AFRAID!....Iran.

2. I don't worry about Iran.
On the other hand we have a "friend" who has nuclear weapons, has not signed the NPT and has a "Samson Option" mentality that could get us all killed.

3. The hypocrisy of the nuclear-armed nations
It's hypocritical for countries which have stockpiles of nuclear weapons to tell another country, such as Iran, that it (Iran) can't have nuclear weapons or even a nuclear program to produce nuclear fuel for generating electricity.

If nuclear weapons are bad for humanity (presumably, that's why Iran shouldn't have nuclear weapons) why do some other countries such as the U.S, Russia, etc. have thousands of nuclear warheads, and those nuclear-armed countries are continually working to improve the effectiveness of the nuclear warheads they already have?

4. Scenario
.
.
.

Decades ago, the US Military decide to try to rule the World.

I personally think that some planned on this Centuries ago,

to make North America, at least the USA part,

a base to take over the whole globe.

Sorta looking that way
