Manny Ramirez To Be Suspended 50 Games For Positive Drug Test

Los Angeles, CA -- (Sports Network) - Los Angeles Dodgers slugger Manny Ramirez has reportedly tested positive for performance-enhancing drugs and will be suspended 50 games by Major League Baseball.

According to the Los Angeles Times, Ramirez is expected to attribute the positive test to medication received from a doctor.

The suspension is expected to begin Thursday. If so, Ramirez won't be eligible to return until July 3.

5. Lets build more taxpayer funded gazillion dollar stadiums.
These players are so deserving.

Better to shut schools and layoff police and FF or let the infrastructure crumble.

8. I've loved the guy for years.... my heart is broken
All through the "Manny being Manny" stuff, all I could think of is that when push came to shove, he did what we paid him to do. When he was loving what he was doing, he was so fun to watch. I wish more players remembered to enjoy the game for the sake of the game.... and now it turns out that even Manny doesn't.

He left the Sox and we now have Jason Bay, who is turning out to be one hell of a clutch hitter.

And now LA will be without Manny for 1/3 of the season while the Sox ended up with one hell of a clutch hitter.

"A source close to Manny Ramirez(notes) said Thursday that the illegal substance for which the Los Angeles Dodgers slugger tested positive was not “an agent customarily used for performance enhancing.”

At least not on the baseball diamond . The source, who spoke on condition of anonymity, said the substance is supposed to boost sex drive. It is not Viagra, but a substance that treats the cause rather providing a temporary boost in sexual performance, the source said.
