Venezuela says weapons cache uncovered, 4 foreigners detained in suspected terrorist cell
RACHEL JONES | Associated Press Writer
8:14 PM EDT, May 9, 2009

CARACAS, Venezuela (AP) — Venezuelan police uncovered a cache of weapons and explosives at a Caracas apartment and later detained four foreigners on suspicion of planning terrorist acts, authorities said Saturday.

While announcing the detentions, Justice Minister Tareck El Aissami accused foes of President Hugo Chavez of "looking for violence," although he did not link the case to the political opposition. Chavez has repeatedly charged that the opposition is plotting to assassinate him or spur his ouster.

El Aissami said a police raid Friday on an apartment near the capital's center found C-4 explosive, electric detonator systems, thousands of cartridges, and 14 rifles of different models, including five with telescopic sights, five with laser sights and one with a silencer. Documents and a computer found there were being studied, he said.

"This type of military arsenal is used for military actions and operations, with the precise objective of wiping out adversaries," he said.

2. Very soon after they caught the mercenaries hired by the racist Cruceños,
isn't it? That situation is dragging in a lot of the oil/gas/agricultural European-descended right-wing in Bolivia, with whom the U.S. ambassador Philip Goldberg, now removed from Bolivia, was conspiring in secret, after-hour meetings far away from his embassy in La Paz.

They caught him out after midnight in Santa Cruz and ran the videos on Bolivian tv stations.

Bolivia: US intervention exposed

31 October 2008

Tensions continue to grow between the US and Bolivia as more evidence comes to light of the former’s role in stoking right-wing opposition to the government of President Evo Morales.

On September 9, Morales expelled US ambassador Philip Goldberg from Bolivia, due to his direct role in the wave of violence that aimed to oust the elected government.

And let them get on with finding the best way to use the nations resources to the benefit of the greatest number of their people.

Maybe they'll find ways to economize and share resources that will be of use to us in the future as we face our own limitations.

CARACAS, Venezuela -- Members of a Venezuelan indigenous tribe on Saturday criticized President Hugo Chavez's order to expel a U.S. missionary group with long standing ties to the CIA, saying even though the decision was made in the interest of their impoverished Venezuelans there small group was benefiting from their uncanny ability to keep mum for a few gringo dollars.

Jose Kayupare of the Puinare tribe challenged Chavez's claims that the Sanford, Fla.-based New Tribes Mission, long associated with Cuban exile groups, Alpha 66, Omega 7 and the 2506 Brigade, constituted an "imperialist infiltration" that was exploiting native communities citing the 4 casinos his tribe had opened up with CIA money.

"For those of us who run businesses like brothels and coca fields funded by Mr. Kennedy's Alliance for progress and make a good living in the jungle, this really stinks. This is a decision that the majority of indigenous people in Amazonas (state), those who run drugs, arms, sell coochie and slaves and harbor enemies of the Venezuelan people, don't support and that we are not going to accept under any circumstances unless Chavez takes some of that fuckin' oil money and pays us restitution like the Bible teaches us," Kayupare told reporters. "Now I admit I'm just an ignorant Indian and I may not have any idea what the gringo bible thumpers are really up to, but I got a business to protect."

The New Tribes Mission claims it has no clandestine mission, but on its children's NTW website a story called Abeedou's Secret (Ah-bee-doo), Abeedou and his friends spot the Chief talking to two strangers. Who are they? What do they want? Soon their presence leads Abeedou and Grandmother to make a secret pact, and to make a decision that will change their lives forever. The strangers turn out to be none other than the infamous CIA operative Col. Ed Lansdale and the Vichy French counter-insurgency legend Roger Trinquier. Abeedou and his grandmother decide to make a few bucks by turning in union organizers that the gringos proceed to fly out to sea and drop from helicopters.

15. Had heard New Tribes connect with the CIA, but didn't know the Cuban-American terrorists
were also involved. It really would figure, after all. They've been CIA-connnected since the 1960's, and some of them before, considering the CIA was operating in Cuba before the revolution.

The Cuban exile terrorists were also up to their eyebrows in Iran/Contra, and drugs, including the bomber/mass murdering Luis Posada Carriles.

Really appreciate seeing this link you've posted. Very interesting group of organizations which are connected. Have heard of many of these without knowing.

16. I googled CIA and New Tribes
and read this article dated Oct. 2005:

Venezuela Discloses Pat Robertson and New Tribes Ties

Caracas, Oct 20 (Prensa Latina) Cinematographer Carlos Azpura, director of a documentary about the exploitation of the Venezuelan indigenous, strenuously supported the expulsion of US fundamentalist New Tribes, and made new accusations against them.

In a televised interview Thursday, the maker of "The Amazon, business of this world" said that ultraconservative New Tribes, based in Sanford, Florida, has very close ties with Rev. Pat Robertson who called for assassinating President Hugo Chavez.

Azpura stated that during his research for the film he found out that New Tribes was financed by US General Dynamics and Westinghouse corporations and numerous engineers and geologists entered Venezuela undercover of the missions to study the soils in the fragile and remote region.

He strongly supported the President´s expulsion order for New Tribes, accused of spying for Washington, saying it was an issue of Venezuelan sovereignty and they are distorting the ideology and orientation of generations of indigenous.

This week the defender of indigenous peoples, Candy Bejarano, denounced that New Tribes affected the culture and economy of the native peoples, while anthropologist Emilio Mosonyi went further, asserting that these missions are eliminating the indigenous.

President of the Bolivar Regional Indigenous Institute and legislator, Yaritza Aray, related that when she visited a New Tribes camp in the jungle she saw many armed people and numerous communication antennas.
