Cheney picks Limbaugh's version of the GOP
Source: The Hill

If forced to pick, former Vice President Dick Cheney said he'd side with conservative talk show host Rush Limbaugh over his administration's former Secretary of State, Colin Powell.

"If I had to choose in terms of being a Republican, I'd choose Rush Limbaugh," Cheney said when asked about whose vision of the GOP he'd side with. "My impression was that Colin was no longer a Republican."

Cheney spoke on one of the more dogged issues facing the GOP during an appearance on CBS's "Face the Nation" Sunday, encouraging Republicans' outreach efforts while maintaining that the party needs to be true to its roots.

"I don't think the Republican Party ought to move far to the left," Cheney said. "The suggestion our Democratic friends always make is, 'Well, if you Republicans were just more like Democrats, you'd win elections.' Well, I don't buy that."

2. O....M...G These guys can't stop steppin in it!!!
The most HATED vice president EVER--with a 20 percent approval rating--is aligning himself with the
biggest hatermongering, drug-popping, Fascist clown in the entire Republican party.

Whooooo hooooooooo!!!!

It's getting easier and easier to paint the Republicans as the party of freaky-deaky extremist thugs
who are completely disconnected from humanity and a basic sense of decency.

The Republicans lost many in their party--and many Independents--as they crossed over and voted for
Obama.

These types of remarks will ensure that more leave the party in droves. The Republican party is
iteratively being condensed into a petri dish of wacknuts, extremists and social misfits.

It's about damn time...... :woohoo:

6. In fairness to Darth, I would distance myself from Powell, too. I would not then ally myself with
Lembaugh, but I have no use for Powell. And I say Powell is a Republican. he's sure no Democrat. regardless of who he voted for for President in 2008.

11. The Republican Party has Always Been the Party of Big Money & Corporate Interests

Apparently millions continue to harbor the strange delusion that the Republican party is the party of free enterprise, and, at least since the New Deal, the party of conservatism. In fact, the party is and always has been the party of state capitalism. That, along with the powers and perks it provides its leaders, is the whole reason for its creation and continued existence. By state capitalism I mean a regime of highly concentrated private ownership, subsidized and protected by government. The Republican party has never, ever opposed any government interference in the free market or any government expenditure except those that might favour labour unions or threaten Big Business. Consider that for a long time it was the party of high tariffs – when high tariffs benefited Northern big capital and oppressed the South and most of the population. Now it is the party of so-called "free trade" – because that is the policy that benefits Northern big capital, whatever it might cost the rest of us. In succession, Republicans presented opposite policies idealistically as good for America, while carefully avoiding discussion of exactly who it was good for.

12. No, Dick(head), Arlen Specter is no longer a Republican
Colin Powell is a Republican who happens to have a soul.

Of course, I can see why Cheney wouldn't be able to see that. :P
