Abducted California Boy May Have Been Found in Mexico

SAN BERNARDINO, Calif. — A child matching the description of a 3-year-old boy snatched from his home by two armed men may have been found alive in Mexico, authorities said Saturday.

San Bernardino County Sheriff's detectives and FBI agents received a call from officials in the border town of Mexicali on Friday that they found a boy that could be Briant Rodriguez, department spokeswoman Cindy Beavers said.

That night, investigators and the boy's mother, Maria Rosalina Millan, flew to the neighboring city of Calexico and were waiting to see the child and confirm his identity, Beavers said.

"It seems the process to make an identification in a case like this is quite different in Mexico than the U.S.," Beavers said. "We're trying to be very patient and we're very hopeful. Very hopeful."

Abducted California boy, 3, found in Mexico

(CNN) -- A 3-year-old boy who was taken at gunpoint from his California home nearly two weeks ago has been found, authorities said Saturday.

Briant Rodriguez was found Saturday in Mexicali, Mexico, according to the FBI and San Bernardino (California) Sheriff's office.

He has since been reunited with his mother, the agencies said.

The boy had been missing since May 3, when two men armed with handguns burst into his family's home and tied him up -- along with his mother and four siblings.

The men ransacked the home before leaving with Briant, a small amount of cash and some personal property, San Bernardino sheriff's spokeswoman Cindy Beavers said.

Authorities had not caught the suspects as of Saturday evening, CNN affiliate KABC reported.

I just want to know what went on for this boy and his mother for the last few days.

Do we have a domestic dispute gone wrong, or an act of foolishness on the part of the abductors?
