Sessions says no Sotomayor filibuster -- yet
Source: The Hill

Sen. Jeff Sessions (R-Ala.), the ranking Republican on the Senate Judiciary Committee, said Wednesday morning he did not see a move among colleagues to filibuster President Obama's Supreme Court nominee, but he wouldn't rule out the delaying technique.

"I don't sense a filibuster in the works. If the nominee has serious problems, those kind of things, that might happen," Sessions said on CNN's "American Morning." "But I would think that we need to all have a good hearing, take our time and do it right, and then the senators cast their vote up or down based on whether or not they think this is the kind of judge that should be on the court."

Sessions, thrust into the post as the top Republican on the Judiciary Committee after the defection of Sen. Arlen Specter (D-Pa.), has significantly raised his profile over the last 24 hours after Obama tapped Circuit Court Judge Sonia Sotomayor to fill the Court's vacancy.

On NBC's "Today Show," Sessions praised Sotomayor's background, but he said some of her statements and opinions could cause trouble.

5. A quote from Senator Jeff "Klanman" Sessions ...
Sen. Jeff Sessions
“This past election in large part hinged, as George Allen said, on a debate over the judiciary and whether or not obstruction was justified. I think the American people sent a clear message and I believe it’s time for this Senate to make sure that judges get an up-or-down vote.” (U.S. Sen. Allen & Other Senate Republicans Hold a Media Availability on the Possibility of a Democrat Filibuster, CQ Transcriptions, 3/15/05)

8. Anyone else see Sessions on Morning Joe?
Looked like a total asshat trying to debate Chuck Schumer. His eyes bugging out, speaking in that KKK southern accent like a senator from the 50s,and looking almost scared as to what to say; he made a fool of himself.

9. Being as Snowe already came out saying that it's
an excellent choice, or something to that effect. I don't think that little shit from Alabama has much of an option to filibuster unless he can get an equally idiotic DINO (I'm looking at you Ben Nelson (DINO) NE, you dick) to join him in his little hissyfit I don't think it's going anywhere.

They may even peel off a few pukes that are legitimately scared of pissing off the latino/female voter even more than they are now. That being said, I say go for it Sessions, drive another knife into the rotting corpse that is the current Republican Party.
