GA congressmen, others to meet with Troy Davis in prison

SAVANNAH, GA (WTOC) - A meeting between death row inmate Troy Anthony Davis, two Georgia congressmen and the NAACP is expected today at the Georgia Diagnostic and Classification Prison in Jackson, Georgia.

NAACP president Ben Jealous, Rep. John Lewis and Rep. Hank Johnson are meeting Friday with the convicted killer.

Earlier this month, Davis' lawyers filed an appeal to the United States Supreme Court asking for hearing in Federal Court.

I feel this is a crucial civil rights case. How many other human beings are sitting, and have been languishing, in jail cells who may be innocent? What could be more serious? I know people on this forum have empathy. That's why we're here.
